Here what CIV really need: a "total screen" MAP of the game world!
Hi,
Of course! A MAP of All the Game World in the central screen !
Yes, we have the map of the world on bottom left... but is TOO SMALL.
What I think CIVILIZATION need above all is a simply BIG map of all World. With that would be more easy to understand the global situation and to plan new strategy.
Would be also nice: if you could stamp tha map in black and white or (if u want) in colours...
You could go to that map, for example, by click on F12.

I really don't find it necessary to have a "global map" view in the main screen, though I think that they could have included more zoom levels.

What I think is something like Master of Magic... Did you remember that game? Something you can watch to have a rapid and easy overview situation.

That would be the way to do it. If they had a zoom out to maximum map dimensions then you wouldn't need a global map view in a special screen. Obviously on a huge map you wouldn't be able to see as much detail as a tiny map, but it would be the same thing as in a special map screen.

I completely, utterly, and unequivocally agree! The full-screen world map was a feature of Civ II, but got dropped in Civ III. Yet they hold on to that useless and stupid Throne Room/Palace which has no effect whatsoever on the game. A big world map helps in planning global strategy. I'd love to see it back, although zoom levels that go out far enough would amount to the same thing.

Yes, zoom level is nice. But...
What I'm looking for is something more easy:
A simply map with the the land and the country colours.
As a good looking cartography map.
If there is zoom level on the "real game map" too, is also ok.

I agree...
Though on this map I would also like to be able to see the where wonders are build (Having small wonder icons near those cities), and the borders of the Civs and maybe also a small dot by the largest cities...
Those things should be optional though...
That wonder icon on the map, would defently be great, since at present time there's no real feelings about where those wonders are placed...
