I'm getting contacts
Apparently I'm getting contacts.
I just learned my parents scheduled an eye doctor appointment for me, without telling me and it's in less then two hours. They had no plans for me once I get to the optomitrist...my mother just came in as told me and I was like "what for" and she said she didn't know. So I've decided to get contacts.
I've never had them before, I wonder what they are going to be like. Anyone here have any stories or suggestions for me?

Tried them when I was a kid. Hated it.
Jabbing at my eyeball twice a day seems to me to be creating a problem, not solving one.

They're ok. Try them out to see how you like them
Just be careful with all the hygiene precussions you must take or
you'll lose your eyes.
scared? good. better than blind.

I like'em. Takes awhile to get used to and they dry out quickly for the first few months you have them as your eyes adjust. It also take awhile for your eyes to be able to have them in for long periods of time without headaches. It's worth it in the long run.

They're so much nicer than glasses.
I wear them when I wake up to the moment I go to bed, they never bother me.
Takes about 10 seconds to put them in in the morning, 2 seconds to take them out at night...

They're not bad once you've used them for some time. You do need some discipline for the first few weeks, when you're gradually adjusting to them. Try not to sleep with the contacts on (but if it happens just once in a while, it's ok). In the end, if all goes well, you won't really notice them.

I just came home from the optomitrist. I got the left one in less than 10 tries. It was far more difficult to put in the right one though. Taking them out wasn't too difficult.
I love wearing them already though.

I miss my eyeglasses. I never wore my glasses cause I was afriad I would look geeky with them on. My parents refused to get me contacts until 10th grade so I walked around blind for good portion of my youth life.
Dont get hard lenses... almost like 99% people use soft anyway (for a good reason too )

I did get soft lenses. Some people say I look scary without my glasses on. This should be interesting.

It seems to be very common - I wear glasess since I was three years old, and the few times I get off of them (for instance, because I want to be one minute without glasses) people start to look me as I was a troll (well, understand me, even more trolish than with glasses)

My g/f says I look sexy with my glasses off. I expect it's a Pavlovian response.

My brother-in-law just got contacts too. It's his new eyes in my avatar. Freaky, huh?

In a few months you'll be able to do it in the dark.
(and seeing how this thread is going, I do mean the contacts )

I tried hard contacts when I was in high school, but over a year ago, I use softies now, and never look back.

That's a very weird sentence when taken out of context?
(on more then one level btw.)

Remember that for every hour you wear your contacts, you'll go blind two hours earlier due to oxygen deprivation.

Masturbation counteracts the effects. The hair follicles on the palm distract it.

only thing i like about hard lenses are:
i can put them on without a mirror and can just pop them both in my eye faster than you can start ur first one.
But they sting if you dont wet them enough with solutions. I heard soft are like that too, but the eye is more sensitive wit the hard ones....

Might seem strange and disgusting for some, but a good way to clean them is rinse them down and them put them between your tong and upper [inside of your mouth].
Don't use any product while doing this of course, then put them in a glass with special solution.
Oh, and don't swallow while doing this either
