The Aztecs used to drink a chocolate drink during certain rituals which was made of chocolate, hot peppers, and coconut milk. I would like to taste that.

Coconut milk in the americas? I though it was native to Africa!
Never had american chocolate. Dairy Milk, however, is completely inedible- it's bland, cloying and overwhelmingly artificial in flavour. Of course, I find most stuff under 70% cocoa solids a bit on the sweet side...

You can still get it in Chiapas - it's called "tascalate" it's a powder mix of chocolate, cinnamon, achiote, sugar, vanilla and corn.

dark chocolate
white chocolate
I don't discriminate
I like most all chocolates. The really fancy stuff is nice, but I will never pass up a Hershey's.
Instead of complaining about American chocolate, I say we should all just make fun of Canadian candy (part 1) (part 2)

Melt butter, add sugar and cocoa powder. Do some movement with it so it wont burn. Add almonds and if it will be too liquid at the end, pour it on banana. Then try again until done right. And yes it would be less liquid if it will be cold. So have you listened word fridge?
It could solve US problem with BAD choco.

The third ingredient is vanilla, not coconut milk.
I prefer vanilla, but chocolate is good on occasion.
Vanilla and Cocao have been together from the dawn of time.

It does. Personally, I'm very fond of mexican chocolate... the traditional spicy stuff, with cinnamon and chilli, among other things, in it. I had a go at making some a while ago, and got some really great truffles out. Needed a little rum/brandy to set it off IMHO though.
In retrospect, I spend way too long making/eating/thinking about chocolate

hmm actually I think the stock "Milka" chocolat we have here is quite good. In fact I am really satisified with it. 100g cost around 0.7 Euro. The 300g around 2 Euro. Not too expensive either.
I tried Cadburys once (in Ireland). My girlfriend loves it. I found it too rough however.

American chocolate sucks, though Girardellis is an exception. It's appalling how awful some of the chocolate bars are there.
Lindt is hard to beat and Australia (Melbourne/Adelaide) is lucky to have Haigh's. Beyond that, you should try fresh truffles if you are ever in Switz'd or Belgium.

American chocolate tastes like crap because they load it with loads of wax which keeps it from melting at room temperature. They also put perservatives so it doesnt go bad on the 2,000 mile truck ride from the factory to the outlet.
Europeans put way less wax, way less preservatives. Belgian chocolate is so good because there is no wax or preservatives, so it must be kept cold or it will melt.
