What exactly is a pyramid scheme? I've heard the term before I don't know what it means.

So when can we see our die-hard Congressional Republicans seriously going after the malfeasants from Enron, Global Crossing, Tyco, etc.?

The exact same scam was done here last year.
They posted posters about it all over campus. The only people they managed to recruit were dimwitted social sciencey people who were amazed at what a good deal they got!!

Dude, with this sort of an economy do you think anyone is going to want to buy an $800.00 set of knives? Have they told you how expensive they are yet? Have they given you that cheesy "the world's most expensive knives" routine yet?
The sites Boris linked to are so true, you have to spend so much time setting up appointments, and trying to find their houses, and then the people aren't home. By the time you calculate all the time you spend that you're not paid for, you'll find that you could make more money at McDonalds. Plus they make you travel to their office EVERY day. I managed to back out just in time, when they announced that I had to buy a $200 set of knives, I finally came to my senses. I know they make it all seem very seductive, but trust me, it is so not worth it at all. Flee Albert, flee!

I like this quote from one of the sites, "It turns out most of the time, that a minimum wage job will earn a great deal more amount of money than being a Vector representative, not to mention there is a huge amount of time, money, and stress saved. With a normal job, you are guaranteed a paycheck, with Vector, you are NOT!"

Same thing happened on my campus earlier this year. Went to every damn class and handed out these stupid cards.
Someone one of these idiots got ahold of my phone number and started calling me at all times of the day.
People need to die.

I dunno, can you just subtly hand them out before training starts? I know during mine they had about 15 minutes at the beginning where you were just supposed to "mingle". You would have to be subtle about it though.

yeah... Vector Time... 15 minutes early... i'm just real worried i'd get attacked. this building is a small little house thing next to a cleaners and the entrance is around the back. and its out in the suburbs (though all the trainees are from philly) so i dont know the area at all in case i'd get in some problems. i'm kind of worried.

that's pretty funny. Whoa, you and MrFun making funny comments in the same day! Something's up!
If you're really that worried about your physical safety, just don't go. The other participants will just have to fend for themselves. I'm sure several of them already realized, like you have, that it's a scam and won't be there.

Many were suspicious but people get blinded with promises of money. hell, i was a little cautious but i figured it was just nervousness and **** til you started talking about this company.
thank you by the way. it's comforting to know that even if you hate my guts idealogically, you at least did a great thing by warning me. thank you, boris
