Interesting Bug
Was looking at Killazer's game and stumbled into this bug.
Looks like you can have 1 bombard range units hit targets beyond their range if the last unit you used has a bombard range of > 1.
If this is old news, I apologize. Interesting find for me though

I've seen something similar.
I believe, though, that this is only a display bug and that actual bombardment cannot be performed outside the red grid. When you click on the targeted tile, nothing happens. In your case did bombardment take place?

Yeah, I've seen this too, when I do my continuous bombard trick. Agreed, it seems just a display bug.

Purple I was able to bombard the tile in question.
I replicated this 3 times on top of my first discovery to be sure this was indeed correct. I reloaded the save file.
When I first found out, I bombarded the tile one tile below the radar tower and it destroyed the improvement. Of thee 3 sucessive tests, 2 failed and one hit.

doesn't look like that's the case, if you look at the tiles W and NW of the AEGIS's first bombardment ring, you would see that they cannot be bombarded..
which brings up an interesting question, would this bug only work on tiles that have units on them?

The bug works for any tile, as long as the last unit before it has a wide bombard range.
The ship isn't Aegis, but a standard destroyer.
