Anyone could tell the most active, but which forums are their hunting grounds is what we're talking about.
|
precisely rah, that's what I was referring to
I'll try to explain some more-
In each posters profile, I thought that it might be interesting if there was a generated section that printed which forum subsection that the poster was most active in... say for example that DarkCloud made 75% of its posts in the Apolyton/Community section... and 75% of its posts would be 4000 posts... the script would say that
--
as for this being a new list idea sorry, it's too much work for me I have a slow net connection and couldn't do the SEARCHES that it would take to determine who's most active where
that's why I was pleading for a script

With Markos away playing soldier games, I would say that the odds are against it.
I doubt this would be considered a HIGH priority item.

oh I thought you meant which forum had the most active poster. But I see you mean which forum each individual poster posts in the most.
Well for me it would be off-topic without a doubt.

Maybe the people could just volunteer the information, and then you wouldn't need a script.

Probably easiest to have the posters post their own description of where they post.
For example, I'm both on and off-topic. While my off-topic posts outnumber the on, I consider my contribution greater to the on-topic forums than the off-topic.
So sheer post-count does not always give you the sense of where the poster makes his contribution to the forums.

Yeah, the old, quality over quantity arguement. But it does have some validity. 90% of my posts are split between the CivII forum and the OTF, but based on quality it's more like 75% CivII and 25% OTF.

It would be interesting to see a top ten of all times and all forums or something similar.

I see math is another problem area for you. If you had read my response properly you would read that my community posting was included in that other 10%. With close to 5000 posts in the OT not counted, my total posts would be over 12000, 10% of that being around 1200. I have no where near 1200 posts in the community forum. I've been more active recently in the comm since mark left but I expect that will naturally diminish again when your's do.

Hmmm, still not reading.
I said, "I've been more active recently in the comm since mark left but I expect that will naturally diminish again when your's do."
But then, with your screwy way of posting, I'm never quite sure what you're trying to say. So, I'll just assume that you got the joke.

yeah, at mark's top 40 forums he had a script that rated that I was accountable for 40 smilies of the 45 total used

Sigh. I suppose so But I was silently hoping that there was a pregenerated script out there somewhere that would take about 5 minutes to install at most
Oh well, I suppose I'll have to do without
(I've always wondered where the majority of my posts come from???) I suppose it's this community section... although I don't know...

Good idea. Better than my suggestion of searching for all the posts and then tallying the breakdown.
That doesn't seem to get all the posts for the old-timers though.
I wonder why.

Dr Spike... I knew that was ONE way but it's hard to make a list that way... since I'd have to check just about every section for each poster to figure out which one they were most active in
of coures, I could do a pretty good list on who was the most active poster in each section if I did that- gives me a good idea (At least If Apolyton's speed keeps increasing...)
