Game is up!
I'm really not sure how difficult this is going to be, people, as I cannot test it out. I hate to suggest this (again), but you might want to drop down a level. Normally I would not say this, but this map is so big that it would be unfortunate if people feel they've "wasted" big chunks of time here.
Incidentally, we've got a DAR thread for the first 40 turns (found here), so try not to get too engrossed...we need your comments!

Something people may consider as it is a reasonable benchmark, try to time how long it takes from ending your turn until entering the next one.
(I only thought of this after pressing enter myself of course )

Dominae, let me get this straight. You give us a starting position where about all we can see are hills and jungles (and some fringes of coast), and you encourage us not to play Industrious? I've seen few starting positions that cry out for the Industrious trait more!
On the plus side, once all those jungles are cleared, the gems offer potential for an extraordinarily wealthy capital area.

Dom...
I personally don't care if I win or lose. I'm sure that it will be a good game either way.
I think it's gonna be a long weekend on the 'puter.

alva, the first turn took my comp ~5 seconds (I've done a few test runs). It's gets better after that, but will surely get a lot worse as the game progresses.
Nathan, yup, there are good reasons to pick the non-Industrious civs.
BigDork, good spirit! I hope you have fun, and learn something here. I think you'll find the need to put your thinking cap on at least a couple of times...

Good. I like a good challenge. I think this will be an AU to remember.

OK, got the correct map this time, he he. Going with Liz, can't says as I remember the last time I tried that one either. Man O War may turn out to be useful in this one, if the others do not already have destroyers and such by the time I find them. Lots of water is not one of my norms. I figure a quick shot to Map Making is the ticket.
