Peace Limerick Contest

Aidun's prose in the Peace thread has inspired the folks at Vox. We are into serious fund raising activities, as we are facing significant moving expenses in the very near future. We have applied for and received official status as a 'charity'.

Our first fund-raising activity will be a Limerick contest.

Official Rules:

The prose must be a standard five line A-A-B-B-A format limerick.

The theme must relate to the recent peace which has blessed the world.

It costs 1 gold for each entry.

All entries must be received by midnight July 10 (edt).

Judging will be done by Vox Controli. The judges decisions are final unless someone offers us a lot of gold to change our mind.

The grand prize is an all-expenses paid trip for two to your choice of North Estonia's most beautiful resort towns - either Harry's Hideout, or Beta-by-the-Sea.

Said prize to be used very quickly after the winner is announced. (in fact - you will really need to hustle, and please don't be disturbed by the large number of people leaving town when you arrive)

Second place prize is one lightly used catapult of recent vintage.

Third place prize is as many authentic Voxian Immortal scimitars as you can carry.

Fourth place prize is a signed and authenticated copy of the complete Gathering Storm Private Forum peace debate. Special 'out take' commentaries by nbarclay, Theseus, and Arrian are included.

Fifth place prize is a numbered print, entitled "Grog's Mountain", depicting the legendary battle between Eli and Grog. In the background, highlighted by the sun's rays, is a cloud which, for some unknown reason, is shaped like a tank.

This will only make sense to Harry Potter fans ... if anyone can think of a better rhyme for the last line then I'd be grateful to hear it

OK - from the above posts it would appear that the only people in the world capable, or willing, to write limericks are native to Estonia (or Stormia).

Or maybe so many members of GS are contributing because they don't want that private forum peace discussion to fall into the wrong hands.

Well, since MY submission didn't even qualify as apparantly "willing or capable" Ill just leave this thread alone.

I'll just focus my efforts on Trappings instead

OK - I agree my words were not particularly well chosen

, but I did include it in the GoW count, and your non-limerick pieces were excellent, btw.

And you do not have to have inside info to come up with a limerick.

So quit your complaining and get back in this thread.

This is the truth. Me and Beta have been using the limerick contest's admission fee to "launder" money. But now it is all over.
