Barbarian question
I intend to use the Barbs for the "Bad guys" civ.
The only problem is that I need to create (heaps of) units for that civ via events.
Is this possible? Which civ should I then write in the events then, "barbarians"??
I think I remember I read somewhere that you cant create barb units via events...
If it's not possible, I can always mix two AI civs to free a slot, so it would not be a major problem, but I would prefer not to need it...

I'm pretty sure it works just fine. And yes the name would be "Barbarians".
I believe the only problem is that the civ2 editors won't allow you to create events for barbarians.
Microprose even used the barbarians themselves in the Master of Orion scenario (as well as all their ToT scenarios).

Thanks for the answer!
What do you mean by "won't allow you to create events for barbarians"?? The only think I want to do is to create barbarian units by events, is this possible??
And I read somewhere that all barbarian units on the map are destroyed if a changeterrain is used, unless they hold a city, is that correct??

You cannot create events involving barbarians with the ingame editor. So you have to make the events manual with a texteditor..

...which is why I don't use the editor. It is much easier and much more comfortable using notepad or any other texteditor, IMHO.
BTW, don't you remember the storms and whales in "Lost Paradise"? They were all events-made barbarian units

And about that point??
Do I need to make a barb city somewhere just to make sure that the units don't disappear when I use changeterrain??

Yep. That also drove me nearly wild in LP. Which is why there was that Barb city in the corner

Dissecting scenarios is the best way to learn.
