SW vs. ST: Round 2
"What is it Lord Vader?"
Emperor Palpatine was stareing out the window of his Tower on the Deathstar, Skywalker's Body lying at the bottem of the stars. It had been several days since the Rebel Rout at Endor, and it still hadn't been removed.
"My Liege, Grand Admiral Thrawn has reported from the Unknown Regions. A Wormhole leading to the otherside of the known universe has been discovered. Intial probes indicate....there are HUmans on the otherside."
"Truly?"
Vader nodded his head "Yes my Liege."
Palpatine's mouth curled into a smile. "Join Thrawn's Taskforce, find out what he needs. Humanity should be under one banner, after all..."
-------------------------
Well all, looks like the Galactic Empire is about to invade the Milky Way! Who shall win?
Obviously, the Empire.

Not this again... I hope some of the responses are more original than most of the spam that was posted last time
And who knows... maybe if we are lucky, it will degenerate into a discussion of which universe had faster ships.....

Pffft!
The Feds could beat the Borg, so they aren't too special.
Besides, if it came to being sandwiched between the Empire or the Borg, I'm willing to bet the Feddies will gladly hop into bed with the Empire against the Borg. Being conquered beat being assimilated any day.

Boris, I didn't say the Federation wins with Q's help, I said Q wins. He's always playing for himself, and I'm sure he would use such a drastic change in situation to benefit himself.

But the Borg were far more powerful than than the Feds. IIRC, they hardly sent any forces to Earth, and the Feds merely stopped the Borg taking Earth, they hardly destroyed their fleet. Besides, saying that is like saying "the resistance defeated the Empire, so the Empire are hardly anything". What have the Empire got that is remotly as powerful as the Borg, or species 8472 (IIRC) who the Borg were losing the war too, when Voyager tried to travel through Borg space.

Ah, but the Borg have their own problems, particularly with species 8472. That, and hadn't the Feddie-engineered bio weapon virtually wiped the Borg out?

Including, but not limited too...
200GT Turbolasers
Multiple KT lasers on Fighters
Deathstar2 super laser
Ships that are faster than anything in the milky way except for the Borg Transwarp corriders and the Voth city ship.
At least 6 Command Ships (17 km Super Star Destroyers)
25,000 Imperatorclass star Destroyers.
Hundreds of thousands of smaller ships.
Millions of fighters
Bare minimum of 1 million member systems, perhaps as high as 12 million.
Billions of soldiers in the Imperial Army.
A unified galactic civilization stretching back 25,000 years to Xim the Despot
-------
The Borg have....erm,.... stupidity?
They are moderately damaged by the most powerful weapong in the UFP's inventory: the 120 MT Quantum torpedo.

Open with Enterprise crew on the bridge at Red Alert.
Cut to the bridge monitor, which reveals a Borg cube at close range.
Picard: "Mr. LaForge, have you had any success with your attempts at finding a weakness in the Borg? And Mr. Data, have you been able to access their command pathways?"
Geordi: "Yes, Captain. In fact, we found the answer by searching through our archives on late twentieth-century computing technology."
Geordi presses a button, and a logo appears on the computer screen.
Riker (Looking puzzled): "What is 'Microsoft'?"
Data: "Allow me to explain. We will send this program, for some reason called 'Windows', through the Borg command pathways. Once inside their root command unit, it will begin consuming system resources at an unstoppable rate."
Picard: The Borg have the ability to adapt, Mr. Data. They will alter their processing systems to increase their storage and CPU capacity."
Data: "Yes, Captain. But when 'Windows' detects this, it creates a new version of itself known as an 'upgrade'. The use of resources increases exponentially with each iteration. The Borg will not be able to adapt quickly enough. Eventually all of their processing ability will be taken over and none will be available for their normal operational functions."
Picard: "Excellent work. This is even better than that 'unsolvable geometric shape' idea."

I say the first ones in B5. I really have no idea how mucht heyc oudl do since most of them decided to move from their galaxy elsewhere (hence trans-galaxic travel).
Star Trek most ceratinly is the weakest. I mean, they don;t even have any worthwhile planet killers!
And what Trek writers did with the Borg was a crime. An incredibly interesting race with huge possibilities turned into cartoon mosters, with the eventual easy defeat...

In open battle, yes, but the residents of the Duneverse are far too clever for that. Their strengths lie in intrigue and behind the scenes dealing, which are massively helped by the presence of presicient individuals like Muad'Dib. It's quite possible that the Dune forces could bring down the Empire from the inside, just as Palpatine destroyed the Republic. And let's not even consider the Federation's chance; those naive and trusting morons would get taken down in a second.

Support allegation "1" Or at least prove Stormtroopers (not the army) shoot less straight than The nonexistant Federation army.
PLus, The GE has combined Arms. The Federation has a.....jeep.
Allegation "B":
Superior Numbers that have knowledge of the terrain; the dozen or so Rebel commandos, Chewie getting the AT-st at the last minute, and appereantly the Stormtroopers (from Star Wars Tales) acted as if the Ewoks were "Charlies".
