Best secondary Simpsons character
Who's your fave? I'm talking major secondary characters, ones that show up at least every three episodes or so, or ones that have several episodes built around them. Thus, this excludes perennial faves like Professor Frink, the Sea Captain, Mayor Quimby, Ranier Wolfcastle, Duff-Man, and the mortal lock for best ever one-time appearance, Hank Scorpio.
I lean towards Burns myself.

Burns is so obviously the choice.
Sideshow Bob a close second, with Wiggum third.

who doesnt like apu? Its because of him I default all my hindus stereotype setting as "funny". Plus you can always make fun of your hindu friend calling them apu and they always take it cool.
Hindu people are the funniest people in the world.

It's just gotta be Moe.
So many golden moments. And the running joke of having him keep endangered species in the back of his tavern just can't be beat.

No, I'm sorry, the cat food line is clearly the height of Ralph-based humor.

Skinner: "Grease yourself up and go in you.. guff speaking work slacker."
Willie: "Ooh. Good comeback."

Man, they've all had great moments.
Kent Brockman was hilarious when he sold out to the alien invaders.

Itchy and Scratchy should have been one. the you open up space for someone like Dr. Nick Riviera, or Troy Mclure, or the lawyer (the one voiced by Phill Hartman), or even Cletus.

The lawyer voiced by Hartman was Lionel Hutz (a.k.a. Miguel Sanchez). And man oh man, was he hi-larious.
McClure and Dr. Nick were also perfect.

man o man, this is a tough choice... I havent made up my mind yet, but I am thinking C. Montgomery Burns. Others are probably funnier overall, but he is entertaining in other ways.
Note how just about all those characters fit some well-known stereotypical role of our society.... brilliant

I can see maybe not having Gil sense he's pretty new and gets repititive... and same with that lady that's always at every kind of office or that asian woman... and i can see maybe not having that old psychologist from the first season... and maybe no Mod flanders...
but come on... no Dr. Nick?! no Lionel Hutz? no Troy McClure?
Hutz: "well, we lost the case so here's your free pizza..."
Marge: "but we won!"
Hutz: "thats alright. it was empty anyway"
