See there, I should get a gift from everyone for preventing the existence of Barbarian Panzers. That still leaves Barbarian F-15's though..........................
Everyone keeps mentioning a central island and that there are lots of other islands, what info did we get about that from Alexman?

I already forgot what he said. I had even forgotten, that galleys need 2 move points on ocean, until I was reminded the hard way. That was still before the Lighthouse, fortunately my galley didn't sink.

Alex has uploaded the map. However it was slightly changed after this. I guess the central island still exists and there were many aluminium and uran sources IIRC.
Ralph, sorry for the trouble. I'm sending the e-mail from my local computer. The other alternative is yahoo but there are too many clicks and waiting...

If you want to renegotiate our border agreement and give them to me I'm sure my industrious workers will clear them in no time at all.

That's okay, I'd rather have the Jungle islands as opposed to your desert islands. I can eventually do something about the Jungle..................

I'm still reading this thread, as it provides good entertainment value!
I don't remember uploading the map. In fact, I'm sure I didn't. Perhaps it was the original map maker? In any case, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a big central island, as the map is quite different now.

What!?!
You mean you just "lip-sinced" the map? You took someone else's map and called it your own?! You hack!!!
On a serious note, who was the original map maker?

I didn't want it, but I needed an industrious wonder for a GA and weighting the usefulness of the Great Wall and the Hanging Gardens brought me to the decision to research it though. Unfortunately, Cerberus stole me the Great Library (grrrr! ) and the next scientific wonder is far away.

110AD to Ghengis.
I too needed an industrious wonder for a GA and, as Sir Ralph was kind enough not to go for the Great Wall, I now have one. (fortunate really as I haven't bothered to research Monarchy)
The next scientific wonder is Newton - that's why I made a big push to get the Great Library.

I actually was up to build them both, and would've finished them in the same turn. But then I switched the Great Wall to an expensive city improvement and am sure the shields are better invested on it.
By the way, I was pretty sure not to get the GL, because I didn't priorize it at all. I was at the 3rd turn or so, when you finished it. My "anger" was pure show.

Note, a horde of Barbarian Horsemen just swarmed out of the Barbarian Camp I was saving. So somebody just went to the Medieval Ages last turn.
Now that the camp has served its purpose I will take it out...............
