The part about we Australians doing the hard yards and carrying you in this thread because no one else in the world seemed to give a fig about your golf, drinking and intestinal gas expulsion exploits.

You're right, actually. Hydey and War4ever obviously have more in common than just a brisk Submit Reply-button finger.
Edit. Oh, and don't forget - about 3 minutes into tonight's ep of Fat Cow will see your every fantasy fulfilled.

Sorry, fat cow and fantasy should not be used in the same sentence. But you never know with Aussies.

What can they get away with down under?
Now that NYPD Blue does close to full nudity shots, it's much more fun to watch American network television. But it is still kind of prudish.

Somebody should slap him around. I'm sure it would improve ratings.

A network that doesn't care about ratings... How do they stay in business Must be government funded...
Another reason why commercial television is a good thing...

Quite a bit more than you can on US Network TV. The f*** word can be used on free-to-air here as long as it's justified and it screens after 8.30pm. You can even get away with the c*** word if it's justified and after 9.30pm. One of the free-to-air networks here showed the Larry Sanders Show - absolutely uncut - at 10.30pm. Nudity isn't usually a problem either subject to the time slot. Violence - and sexually-related violence, in particular - is what they really worry about.

There's always a place for government-funded broadcasters as alternatives to commercial mainstream. Unfortunately, the experience is that most of them head down the same commercial path, chasing viewer ratings just as fiercely as the commercial mainstream broadcasters do. Which is idiotic and self-defeating, because they never have the budgets the commercial mainstream broadcasters do, so they (a) lose out; and (b) waste an awful lot of money that should have been spent providing the alternative.

I'm re-watching it on cable for the umpteenth time. Garry Shandling is one of US TV's absolute heroes, IMHO. Did you ever see his first series? The name escapes me at the moment. I'll have to check.
Edit. D'oh! It was called "It's Garry Shandling's Show". Made in the late 1980s.

since you can't tell me the name, i can't provide an accurate answer....
but the Larry Sanders show had me in stitches forever.....
the crew was so melodramatic and neurotic...... i was sad when they cancelled it

Larry Sanders was one of the funniest shows ever on TV. I still watch reruns whenever I can.

Larry Sanders had to be edited considerably for broadcasting over-the-air.

It was originally on cable.
It was sold into syndication for over-the-air reruns.
