Any good text editors out there?
I need a text editor that can perform basic functions (color change, font size, etc), for Win32 Thats not heavy.
And it has to be free. Completly free. No "30 day use" or anything like that.
Thanks

If you were using linux I would suggest KWord. But you use windows so.....

Tass,
A text editor doesn't do those things. What you are looking for is a word processor. Text editor just turns out plain text (ASCII or Unicode), it doesn't care about font size and colours.
Check Tucows or other similar sites.

Try "Henry's Textplorer." It's a text editor where you can change fonts, color, etc.

TEXTPAD
http://www.textpad.com/
Unfortunately the download is an evaluation copy.
They used to have a free version toned down.
I have used this product at work for over 5 years, and it is my favorite editing package. Many great features.

openoffice is slow as sh|t.
if it's just wordprocessing, i'd suggest abiword on abisource.com ... works like a charm, is compatible with office, quick to load up and quick to quit in both windows and linux...
it's free, too.

see, it's a religion.
besides, pico is a blessing when sshing into a sshd over a modem. xemacs, emacs, vi, and vim all suck up way too much overhead for them to be that useful.

People, read the original request. He wants a word processor, not a text editor.

Predictions before I opened this thread:
1) Linux geek posts an editor only found in Linux
2) Someone mentions vi
What about vim you bastards oh look at the pretty colors!!!
