Hydey - there's absolutely no doubt you would outdrink them, and take them for their Stars & Stripes undershorts on the golf course. Point 4, unfortunately, was where you left the opening wide enough for rah to drive a Hummer through, which he promptly did.

Naw, what screwed it up was 1800 dollar airfare.
I highly doubt he would outdrink us.

Bad idea to underestimate the appetites of an Aussie, by my experience, Rah. (Note how much abuse they can take, for instance. Well, except Horse... )
Personally, I'd love to see the drinking competition, especially on the golf course. But I seriously doubt that the ppl involved will ever be on the same continent...

No vision is required for Democracy games. All you need is the desire to post.

Remember Rah, those guys are used to real beer, not bud light
But seriously, from experience I can say that the Aussie's rank up there with the Dutch and Bavarians when it comes to beerdrinking

I'm half-Italian, Quarter German, Quarter Irish.
None of which are known slackers when it comes to drinking. A good drinking pedigree.
Who said anything about beer. Shots

Well, I just hit "my threads" and, as often happens, on EVERY thread with new posts, the most recent poster was RAH.
So it looks to me like the desire to post is not the difference. back atcha, buddy.
IMHO, the Democracy forums are a fine example of strengthening the Poly community, and so should be paid the same respect as the other forums. They do require leadership (and yes, a vision) to keep them going in a positive way. Posters like Hydey, H Tower, atawa, cavebear, and others have added to the community through their participation. Strategies are discussed, people learn more about the game, and get to know each other. Is that actually so different than what happens on the MP forum? The same can be said for the Demo games in the Civ3 and other fora as well.
The fact that you prefer other Poly activities (MP, modding, OTF) doesn't mean the Demo forums should be dismissed.
To each his own.

Your beer is so weak. It tastes like water.
I don't mind it though.
$1800 Pacific peso is about $1100 US. We might get a discount if we travelled as a group - but I'm not sitting next to Hydey.
