Well, they do kind of work... it helps a lot with a darkened room and a blacked out box... But the BEST addition you can have is a screen to project onto. White nylon gives very good results.
But if you want a seriously big projection screen for games, get a projector.It's a lot brighter, it's a lot easier to focus.
And make sure you can get spare bulbs for it...
And make sure you can mount it so that it's out of the way...
Mind you, a lot of older projectors have only 640 X 480 or even 320 X 200 LCDs in them...
As for the testimonials, I see a lot of competition on on auction sites as to who offers the best system.

With any luck your parents might still have one lying around on the attic somewhere. Used to be very popular during the 70'ties for pictures.

Cruddy man, we have a projector at home, and these things cost a fortune, unless you want to buy something really crappy that's all blurry and basically worthless...
I mean: $25 is like nothing!!!
Of course, a projector does give you a much better focus, brighter, better colours, etc etc... It's really cool playing SoF or watching the matrix in your own home cinema with a matching surround sound system
