More than six and I wake up incredibly angry. I feel like I'm missing out on life.

For me, it depend on whether or not I set the alarm clock.
When I set it, I live on5 or 6 hours.
But now that the kids aren't in school, I get about 8.
I also work nights.
 ACK!

I love sleeping, but I love 'Poly even more.
7, to account for the days I don't browse on 'Poly. Otherwise, between 5 and 6. That's bad.
When I don't have 'Poly nor alarm clock, I love to sleep. About 10 or 11 hours.

How can people survive on less than 6? Why? I get so much more done during the day if I have plenty of sleep. Anything less than 8 and I operate a lot less efficiently. However if there is something that needs doing, I just don't sleep, and catch it up later. Once did that for 3 nights to get this essay written. Worked though, was a good essay, even if it took 60 odd hours to do

IIRC, Einstein used to just take little 20 minute catnaps. Those work for me for a week or so, then I need some serious downtime.

I've been getting around 9 hours sleep recently. Underemployment has its benefits.

Sometimes I sleep 11 hours if I don't have to do anything important. Then again I might sleep 5 hours if I have nothing important to do. I can go with 4 or 5 hours of sleep, but I prefer 6-8 hours if I have something important to do.
Sometimes I sleep 2 hours, and then I sleep another 2 hours, and then an other 2 hours in 24 hour period.
My sleeping patterns are weird to say at least. I can mostly adapt to any pattern fast. Sometimes I like to get up at 0600 even with nothing important to do. Sometimes I like to sleep until 2pm.. varies a lot.
That's a quality only super soldiers have .

When in school, a solid 8 is necessary for peak functioning. When working as RA during summers 6 is about average, and 10 on the weekends.

I function best if I can manage to get the 12-5am or 1-6am cycle.
If not, its probably best to take the pills by 10pm if tomorrow is an important date.

It is individually different, how much time you need to sleep to feel refreshed.
Some people need a lot of sleep, some people need fewer. And many of those people who need fewer sleep often think that they have sleep Problems and get their Docs to ürescribe them Sleep Medication. Of course this Sleep Medication makes thing only worse as it get the people to sleep longer, but aside from this also dimishes the restorative capabilities of sleep so that these unlucky souls maybe wakre up after 10 hours of sleep but feel less refreshed than they would feel without Sleep Medication after 5 or 6 hours.

Different people different metabolisms.
Besides, you know what I'm like with daydreaming and nodding off during the day momentarily.

Now that i'm on a nice long vacation I've been sleeping with shut down windows in total darkness around 11 hours a day. Then I decided that it's a waste of time and only makes me more tired, so I now keep the windows open and sleep ~8-9 hours and feel much better.

during the summer I usually sleep 10-13 hours each night because I never go to bed at the same time, but Im always awake before 6pm so I can get ready for work.
during the school year I sleep 6-9 hours a night depending how rested I am. or if I go a week without a good night's rest I'll sleep 12+ hours. Funny thing though on weekends regardless of how rested I am I wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed after 5-7 hours. Then there's falling asleep in school, do we count that too?

Hey space, how much daylight do you get during the summer?
