What game(s) do you just OWN?
By "own", I mean "dominate."
The only video game that I owned, at standard difficulty level, is the 1982 Williams Electronics arcade game Robotron: 2084. In 1983, I lost my game by rolling over my men while on my way to scoring 25,000,000+ points (1/4 of the then-world record at the same difficulty level (extra man every 25,000, difficulty 5 - typical factory settings).
I've been playing the game for 20+ years and I swear that last night I figured out yet another strategy that will do me some good.
I also used to dominate Rubik's Cube pretty damned well, once achieving a time of 48 seconds (mostly taking from 60-80). There was a book that had a pretty fast method to solving it, and I practiced and practiced. I hated the little ones on key rings.

Yeah, it's been a while since I had 6 straight hours to devote to one quarter. Remember there were no pause buttons, no save spots on those old arcade games - in many ways, owning an arcade game is more impressive than any Save and Reload computer game.
IMHO, of course.

if sava is reffering to single player that is the saddest statement ever. to own at sc u have to win tournaments, preferably korean ones, or against top korean competition(cuz its such a huge game). most ppl have no idea the real competition level of starcraft.

I'm not much into the MP experience - hell, I don't have enough time to finish the standard campaigns in most of the games I buy.
But yeah: go ahead and boast of your MP accomplishments as well.

I read an article a few weeks ago about two Koreans who allegedly were blind and played a pretty darn good game of StarCraft. I am not sure if there's any truth to it, but the fact that it's not *that* hard to believe in itself... Korea should really make StarCraft their national sport, that'd be interesting.

Thief.
I routinely play the game at expert level, getting all loot available in the level without saving/loading. I only save between levels. Lotsa fun.

007 - Goldeneye on N64 was one game I could beat the crap out of. Don't know why - I usually suck at FPS but that one hit the spot.

I don't own any games
(except Bebop, which is no fun because it is too easy)
(and Warcraft II, which is too easy)
Come to think of it, I don't own anything in RL either.

Most of these are really old coin ops or Spectrum Titles
Bomb Jack
Elite
Starstrike II
Double Dragon
The Main Event
Lords of Midnight
Civ I (haven't played III enough yet)
Tornado
I usually now get bored of games before the "owning" stage.

Spectrum games: Kokotoni, Chronos. Back in those days I didn't have a tape recorder or a floppy drive, so saving the game was not an option. Even after I got my first PC, I still played these 2 until I completely ruined the keyboard.
PC games: Civ 1 (my first PC game - should I play Civ or Chronos? Decisions, decisions...), XCOM 1 & 2.
Games I'm still hoping to achieve the same level of expert play: Civ3 and XCOM - Apocalypse.

Sava, I don't think you truly own it if you think that record means something in SC. You are probably in the better half of all the SC players thought if you played on bnet because most people didn't play multi, just single.
Only thing you can see from records for sure are if someone is a newbie discer with records like 10-5-20
If someone has something like 1500-500-? then you can safely assume he didn't buy the game on the same day or even month. Still I know people with stats like that who suck. I know plenty of players with better stats than me who I totally own. Still I don't own SC, because the skill level nowadays is extraordinary high. In my opinion, you don't have to be pro to own at SC but pretty close to it, there are plenty of good players who aren't sponsored.
Btw sava what was your record?

Hmmm??? I don't understand the last sentence. It may tell that you don't know that it allready is well known sport there or you think giving it official status would be interesting which I don't understand...
Anywy, I wonder how long SC will hang on it is getting old. I kinda hoped WC3 would finally kill it but it wasn't good enough.
Anyway of all the games I have played I'm best at SC but because the high skill level I can't say I own it.
Anyone remember Contra? I used to play it so much I started to get more extra lives than losing men so I could play it through in infinite loop Only did for like 5 or 6 times in a row thought.
