Who are you anway?
. . . beyond the usual political ideology that you follow, or whatever philosophical view you take on life and humanity.
Besides the viewpoints you take on the usual issues discussed over and over on Apolyton, who are you?
Family background: I am the youngest of the five children with one older brother, and three older sisters. My father worked all his adult life at John Deere, and enjoyed only a year of retirement before dying from a stroke six years ago. My mother is alive and well.
Religion: I was raised Catholic, but now, I'm a non-active Christian, considering becoming Episcopalian.
Work/School: I graduated this past May with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and did very well. Now, I'm looking forward to my great internship program and graduate courses at Eastern Illinois University this fall.
I also lived all my childhood in a rural town of only 300 people, which was predominantly Catholic.
I moved out a year after coming out to my family and friends -- not because they disowned me, but because I can breathe easier in a larger town/city.
I have interest in chess, movies, reading fantasy fiction although have lacked time for that the past year, and I enjoy walks in parks.
I also have a great interest in history of American Civil War, and contemporary issues concerning homosexuals. I have other interests that include human prehistory, wildlife, and fictional writing.
With fictional writing, I usually delve into fantasy, or historical fiction. Right now, I'm working out a background idea for a fantasy novel.
So, how about yourself?

Family background: I am only child. My father worked for more than 20 years in the Chilean Marine Corp, now he is principal of a college of my city and work as a strategy consultant. My mother is a gym teacher of a girls school in Valparaíso (15 minutes from Viña del Mar, my city).
Religion: I'm Catholic.
Work/School: I graduated on 1998 from my school (Alliance Francaise de Viña del Mar) and since 2000 I'm studying Marketing & Advertising, from which I'm going to graduate on december of this year (hopefully).
I lived all my life in Viña del Mar, a coastal city, 150km at the north of Santiago. Is the 3rd biggest city of Chile, but anyway doesn't have too much of population, only 350.000 people. (Santiago have more than 6 million).
I have interest on Advertising (do'h! ) I really love it, and communication and marketing in general. I love everything about medias and new tecnologies.
I love to write. I'm a bit of journalist and I made public some of my work (that are kind of politics analysis) on a mayor newspaper from here, El Mercurio.
I love everything about history, specially from the old great empires and Chilean history (specially the Independence War, the Civil War and the Pacific War).
I almost forgot it.. I also love Civ
sorry for my crappy english

David Allen Rose
Stats:
5'7"
115lbs (unhealthily underweight, should be 135-145lbs my age/height; gonna get help soon though)
22yrs starting April 27, 1981
Scotish-English-French-German ancestry (Rose Clan from Kivlrock(sp?), Scotland)
Heavily near-sighted plus astigmatism (anything beyond 1 inch from my nose is a blur); can wear contacts - and have - but just barely on the fringes of what is mass-produced by the major companies. Laser surgery might be considered in 10 years, but not right now.
EDIT:
Hazel eyes (in normal light, but green is also present)
"Red" hair (mixture of reds, browns, blonds)
Family:
Only-child. Know next to nothing about biological father (difficult to get reliable, non-contradictory info out of my mom). Mom, Laurie, and stepdad, Richard, both brought up in Christian environment, but not to the level of fanaticism. Once they left their homes, they stopped going. Mom looks in a bible from time-to-time. Mom is the youngest of three: Sharon, eldest, lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband Jim and their son Andy. Brian, middle, lives outside Denver, Colorado with his wife Marylyn (sp?) and their son Ben. I'm the oldest of the three Rose sons. Grandma through my mom lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. Grandpa died LOOONG before I was born. Stepdad is middle of 3 boys. Charles, eldest, lives outside Chicago with his wife and their kids (3, I think) are all growedup and have their own families. Gary, youngest, is in Fresno, California. Chronic junkie, constantly trying to clean himself up. Currently stable... Their mother died a 6-7 years ago, and their father died many years before that.
EDIT: And our cat, Samantha. She came to us as a stray in February of '92 (I think) when she was about 1 year old. She's still highly active, but her years are starting to show...
Speak/have education in:
English (native), Spanish, French, Hebrew
Religion:
Taoist - not religion, philosophy
Politics:
Registered Democrat (bleh), prefer Green at the polls, not above voting for a Republican here and there. Social: Liberal, Economic: Socialist, Government: Authoritarian (think "Philosopher Kings" but mixed with a healthy dose of proper Democracy)
Education:
Completed an Associates of Art (General Studies aka "Dummy Degree"); goes towards part of Architecture studies at Truckee Meadows C.C. transfering after 2 years to UofNV, Las Vegas. Currently going for Masters Degree in Architecture, but leaning towards Urban Planning et al.
Residence:
Born in Chicago, Ill. for first 5 years of life then moved to Reno, NV in July of '86. Second largest city of Nevada after Vegas...which isn't saying much considering Fallon is the 3rd largest "urban" area that is mostly a farming community near a military airbase. Last I heard, Reno was at 300,000 some-odd people within city limits, 500,000ish in the surrounding area. I live in the southern reachs of the Truckee Meadows outside city limits.
Interests:
Civ series (naturally), MoO series, SimCity series; Sci-Fi, plenty of cartoons that have adult humor undertoning the kids stuff (Powerpuff Girls for instance), South Park, Looney Toons, more grownup-type stuff like ER, Monster Garage et al.;Architecture, urban planning, humanitarian projects; Sci-Fact, emerging technologies (though stuff involving the inner workings of computers baffle me me=terrible at math), space tech et al.; politics to a degree, but don't allow myself to blow a gasket over any aspect of it (muted interest a la Taoist philosophy).
And I'm told I'm "long-winded" at times.

age: 22
height: haven't measured in a long time but 185-186cm
weight: just weighed myself, 89 kg
languages: finnish, english, swedish and some german. I want to learn italian or spanish good, I guess I'll pick that up in school or so.
family backround: Only child from middle class family.
education: just staring my studies in Uni, software engineering and mathematics.
religion: Christian
work history: Not really 'real' jobs, but I have worked many summers for my dad in construction sites, doing some heavy lifting YEAAAA BABY! Also worked a summer for explosives company. Oh and also worked for computer store, fixing machines and trying to figure out what the heck the customer is trying to say in description of the problems.
Interests/hobbies: I really like lots of stuff. Two of my more active hobbies are mixed martial arts and I'm trying to improve my striking, having focused too much on grappling and submissions. Then the other sport I like to do is snowboarding. I really really love it, I like big jumps, freeride.. everything except half pipe. That I don't like to watch or do.
I like sports very much in general, mostly doing them myself. I guess I'm a sucker for what you might call extreme sports, but snowboarding is only one I really do. I like music, women and good food. I like kissing.
I like computers too a lot, and information. I'm information junkie and I find boring stuff interesting.
I like military very much. I'm interested about everything there is to it. I still have many guns I want to fire at least once with live rounds. Unfortunately not possible here.
I'm easy going and get along with different kind of people. I'm single (girls *wink* *wink*). I sleep naked.

I hope so too. But this is very sophisticated and psychological stuff. Girl is shocked and awed if you build it beautifully, and she don't know what to think or say.
Now you have momentum.
Like you throw a rock and the guard goes to check it out, only to get knocked from behind 'yes what is that I wonder..*OUCH!*. You see, momentum, right? I'm trying to implement this strategy with girls, however to this date with not so good results as I had predicted.
Like magicians 'hey look at here, don't look at this hand I'm talking to you look at my eyes' and BOOM they just all got owned by the trickster! I told you it's sophisticated now didn't I?

Family background- Details are sketchy. At the age of approximately 8 I was spotted running wild and naked around the abandoned collieries that litter the North Mendip hills of Somerset. Once the "Daily Mail" had been satisfied that I wasn't a beastly wog foreigner, they organised a campaign to save me which culminated in my idyllic primitive lifestyle being abruptly curtailed courtesy of a shot of ketamine in the arse. The hunter who darted me, Quentin "Binkie" FitzHerbert-Huxtable, deduced that I had been abandoned in infancy and susequently raised by weasels. The daring capture was celebrated in a "Mail" front page- an exploit I was to repeat a couple of weeks later after it was revealed that I was unable to read and had a tendency to bite the heads off rabbits. The new headline- "Boil this little **** in creosote"- was somewhat less sympathetic.
School/Work- Having received a scholarship to Eton on the grounds that I spoke no language comprehensible to human ears, and was therefore unlikely to complain to the press and social services about the traditional ritualised acts of enthusiastic buggery by Geography teachers, I was treated to the cream of British academia. In every orifice. After I was expelled (for keeping explosives and morphine in my room without obtaining the prior permission of the Housemaster) I ended up in the Comprenhensive school of a small West Country market town where I was steeped in the rural traditions of casual brutality and ritualised warfare with Gypsies. The sadistic psychosis I developed as a result left me ideally suited to work in a telesales enviornment and I was head-hunted by a large bank.
Religion- I have constantly campaigned for a return to traditional values in religion, preferably involving lots of sacrifices and attempts to predict the future by enthusiastically wading about in the innards of the under-5's.
Politics- It's clear that ideologies are all debased and impractical, and that what the world really needs is a return to grand and pointless gestures to galvanise the public. Think back to Victorian times, when the great engineers like Brunel tunnelled through 80 miles of granite by repeatedly throwing live sparrows against the rockface until the fluttering of tiny wings and crunching of tiny, shattering bones eroded the barrier away. Just to bloody well prove it could be done, and damn the financiers! Therefore I propose that an immense bridge should be built to link every capital city in the Western hemisphere with Mecca, and if Johnny Foreigner starts getting uppity again then we'll gridlock the Hajj with good imperialist SUV's bearing mildly amusing bumper stickers. Hurrah! This bridge will be built in the traditional way- through sweat, toil and the loss of millions of Irish lives.
Interests- I stalk nurses.
