titles idea
People could have 2 titles, a normal title and an OT title. Posts outside the OT would show the normal title (sum of posts made outside the OT) while posts inside the OT would show the OT title (sum of posts made inside the OT).

We can start one... September 22
Talking about titles, perhaps we could get a custom title after becoming deity... that one also has been asked and answered before?

I still think it would be good for certain posters to get personalised custom titles (e.g. Hall of Famers). Titles would be given honorarily by the community and accepted by the newly entitled poster.
If accepted a mod can give the new title.
It likely won't happen though.

You can't change the system. Time has shown Markos only budges for "experiments". And if he gives us an experiment, we heckle him (e.g. non-loading images, those awful adverts under out avatars, see mrmitchell for the gravestone) and even stopping OT posts adding was an experiment at first.
I concur with Big Crunch that Hall of Famers should be given a more tangible status than an extra HoF vote, and their name in an election thread, and so given a custom title, or something similar to the arcade crowns at CGN.

If the HOF was more than a high school popularity contest, I might be inclined to agree.

Interesting but no. I'd much more prefer if we just added a "Double Diety" title for Ming, who is bumping 20,000.

What exactly would be the point? So newbies can kowtow to the almighty Hall of Famers? So Hall of Famers can organise member-only chat sessions/threads/meetings?

perhaps hall of famers should have something, but a civgroup, i don't think. the whole point of civgroups (like MP civgroups) is so you know who you can contact to play against, and soforth.

I don't see the need for a Hall of Fame CivGroup.
I only vaguely mentioned them for titles as the members are obviously well known and are thus suited to have honourary/endearing titles given to them.
No member should be able to choose their title though, but they can decline one it they so choose.
