Minister of War report, 100AD
these romans are in need of a good kicking
I propose we attack each city in turn with a force of 6 vet crusaders and 2 vet pikemen.
We should have our army mass in Cumae before marching over the mountains to victory.
I feel it would be a good idea to possition some vet pikemen on the mountains to prevent the romans from occupying them and blocking our path.
With the world so large I think we should destroy one civ at a time rather than trying to fight in too many places.
The americans who we have not found have the hanging gardens in New York, keep the explorers hunting for this wonder will surly help our people stay happy.

Yes, with the world as huge as it is it's a good idea to concentrate on one of our barbaric enemies at a time.

i agree with wiping the world of the pathetic romans.....such a lame civilization should not be allowed to exist ...
the pyramids would be nice....i would prefer if we were not allowed to capture wonders and instead raise cities with wonders to the ground

good plan
I just have some requests for your report: where do you want those units to be build(all units inside cities are needed for "peace-keeping-missions" and they already are outnumbered by the black widows and their sons)? We have no real road connection so travel goes slow as hell and we wouldn't want the Romans to die of old age, wouldn't we .
?Rushing? with our low cash.

Just thought I'd point out that the green civ has ideed come back from the dead. At least according to the Power Graph, the Zulus have risen above the flatline.
Do we want to permit this, or should we kill them off through the software (we are already in "cheat mode")? Re-establing dead civs was not part of our original game plan

shade is right, we don't have the support network in place to wage war with 6 cruc's and pikemen.
However, it looks like we can make do.
Cumae has 1 cruc, and 1 cruc in prod.
Desolation & Havoc both have high production rates(mines/forests nearby). Have both of these two switch to crucs.
Have cumae switch to another pikeman first, before making a second cruc.
That will give us a potential army of 2 pikemen, 4 crucs, a horsey, and an archer. Start staking out mountains along Hydey's attack plan, and then move in the first crucs, keeping the minimum in Cumae required for martial law. Problems may come if Rome stakes out mountains with pikemen/phalanxes. There's a diplomat not far off(near newton). Can we bribe fortified defensive units on mountains? If so, this may be the best method. OTOH, our crucs may be able to take out phalanxes on mountains(but maybe not pikemen).
IMHO, if we can get a clear shot at antium with 2 crucs+defendor, we should go for it. 3 would safer, and 4 would clinch it.
We would have to regroup after taking the first city, but I think that's expected. By that time, we should have the full army of 6+cruc's hydey wants.
Btw, I see an issue coming up. The people will need to decide soon how they wish to spend their resources. Do we want (A) to drive towards the war machine with crucs and revenue(to help rush buying) - this would mean building fewer settlers and more crucs, or do we want (B) to settle more? there's a lot of green pasture and specials that are not being farmed yet, or do we want to (C) concentrate on exploring and huts(creating more horseys, dipl, crucs), or (D) science.
I know A-D are not all incompatible, and we may choose 2 or 3 of these, but we can't continue, imho, to try and do all 4. It spreads our resources too thin.

I'd say let them live,it looks like they will be the underdog for the rest of the game, and won't pose a real tread.
@nivs: good layed out plan although there are some details you don't have
eg. Cumae needs 3 defenders minimum+elvis to keep the ppl happy, anything les gives revolt.
Havoc is to far away it would take a crusader at least 8 turns to reach Cumae
Havoc and Desolation are size 2 and need their entertainer to keep the ppl happy (black faces are a small disaster.
My guess is it might be best to rush our units as efficiently as possible in Cumae and Desolation, a cruc can get from Desolation to cumae in 4 turns...
the 6unit plan of Hydey is hopefully enough to get us the 2 Roman cities in sight.
Maybe you can cooperate with our cityplanner

I agreed with the majority in all areas except for Exploration, the Greeks appear too near and too aggressive for comfort as far as I am concerned.
I think we need to explore in their direction, and need to uncover all the black in the region near them, and if possible, I think we should make peace with them while we continue to attack the Romans. Hopefully this way we can keep as many of our exploring units alive until we have uncovered their cities. I think all eastern units should be used to move in a southerly direction, and thus uncover the Greek lands and the area to the East of what we think of as Greek lands.
Better to attack the enemy we know (the Greeks & Romans), then the enemy we don't know (Americans, Germans, Zulus). The Romans and Greeks will keep us busy for the time being, I am in no hurry to find the others just yet.

I don't think we should "kill them off through the software", that would deprive our Minister of War the pleasure of killing them off with 25 veteran crusaders.

Hmmf! That's nothing. When *I* was young, I had to build my own and I had to walk 3 miles through the snow to get the parts, barefoot!

Yeah, the TVs had black and white pictures and didn't have remote controls. Music could only be found on 12-inch vinyl discs which you had to physically flip over to hear the 2nd half of the album.
Times were hard...
