When I was born, my parents didn't even have a TV, and the first one we had was an 8" screen. The speaker was larger than the screen. I pre-dated our TV by a week. 
We didn't have an air-conditioner until I was about 12 and we lived in a "95" zone (temperature and humidity). 
We need an "old fart" icon. A smilie with a beard.
