I don't think the word cracker should be allowed at Apolyton
If we can't say the n word, we shouldn't be able to say the c word.
I have been seeing this word a lot lately. It needs to stop.

I thought the n-word was nitrification because I've never seen it here.

I thought the n-word was nitrification. Why else would nobody use it?

I call Godwin's Law. You lose. I win.
Anyways, unlike the n-word, the c-word has legitimate meanings. Censoring "cracker" would be like censoring the diminutive form of "Richard".

Cracker also means "malicious intruder who break into other people's computers."

i hope it's not taboo to ask this, but how did that c* term get used to describe white people?
i know where n* is derived from. and gook, jap, and chink, for that matter. but c* mystifies me, along with a whole bunch of other ones.

I don't know which one is the "n word" and neather the other meaning of the word cracker.
can you explain me both words, or are them "ofensive" for some people and that's why they are/should be censored?

People find certain words to be offensive because they have been taught that those words are offensive. If people were not taught that certain words are offensive they wouldn't be so easily offended.

When I asked what the 'n' word was I was being serious; since I had no idea cracker was used as it is implied here I couldn't make the connection. Is it American slang?

The "n" word isn't censored, iirc.
But I'd much rather see that censored than words like **** and ****. The "n" word has only one use, to harm.
**** and **** are just ways of expressing a good deal of emotion, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Geeslaka, exactly! Still, people shouldn't use words that they know are going to be offensive. There's no point in it. You're just going to anger the person you're talking to, and that rarely gets things done.

Oh thanks, I understand now why N is offensive. A book with that name was released a few month ago right?

Um Lorizael thanks for trying to help, but as the tense in my post makes clear I made the connection when I understood what cracker was slang for.
My point was until today I had no idea what 'cracker' meant other than a particularly fine woman or a thing you pull at Christmas (hopefully the same definition twice ).

Crackers are white and brittle. So are white people, if the comparison holds. Aren't slurs fun! I've always been partial to being called round-eye and breeder, myself.

My first reaction to this thread was "Since when did Diss have a beef with cracker at CFC?"
I have no other reactions...rather dull as it is.

I think Spike's post above covers my feelings well too. I only figured out what the n* and c* words meant halfway throught the thread from the context others put them in. Needless to say, I don't care if the word is censored or not.
