Re: GODLY: Ratify Tassadar as Assistant God
In my haste, I forgot to make it multiple choice....
Since were pretty intelligent, simply vote "No" or one of the "IF YES"s, please But please vote IF YES. PLEASE.
My fate is now in your hands...
Edit: Aaah! I'm tripping over myself!!! But thats no reason not to vote YES! Remember, I will give you GODLY anthems sent from heaven!

Please explain what an assistant god does? I would also like to know if the GoogleGod himself has ratified the proposal.

Never mind, I saw that the God himself has ratified it. I have voted yes. However, I still would like to hear what exactly is the job description for an assistant god.

Basically they chart what has happened, and release it as the history of it at the end. They also talk to GooglieGod and discuss anything he needs, like someone to bounce ideas off. A good idea IMHO.
I think it should be part news, part bibleish and part story, depending on what is appropriate for eahc bit. I think leave it up to Tass's discretion which to use for each story.

Hmm - seems to be a strong movement towards denying Tass the elevation to Godhood.
And in conjunction with the other, similar, poll, if one removes the Godhood option, it would seem that the Tass Manoeuvre is the default option
But it's early days yet as only a dozen or so have voted

Well you'd have to add all those yes's together. So so far it is 9 (3+2+3+1) vs 8 for Tass's godhood.

??? How so? The style votes are all conditional: IF Yes
Counting them all as yes votes would at least double count the yesses. Another example of Hiverian Democracy in action?

Nah, Tass said that he forgot to make it multiple choice, so he said that please vote one of the if yes if you intend to vote yes.

Yes.. 9 people want him to be, and 9 don't. It's single choice. However maybe there should be a yes/no poll first. However we now have the other one.
Googlie: What is the Tass Manoeuvre?

I voted No. If individual factions want Tass to document and record their faction history, fine, that's up to them. But I object to a game wide one person/one vote poll opening access to a faction against its will.

I voted no too btw. Tassadar has repeatedly proved in the past, for example here, that he has periods of serious mental instability. Therefore I am reluctant to give him access to all the factions' information. Who knows, when he yet again has "Too much energy + Lotsa medications + Sleep Deprivation", he might release important information about one faction to another. Also I doubt he can be impartial in his reports. Probably the PUT and Archaic would get bashed all the time. I may be saying this a little rough, but there's no way I'd want Tassadar as assistant God.

I don't intend to compel anybody to open their forum to Tass. I just think that it may be unfair to other factions if Tass come back to Hive with his knowledge. But I also think it unfair to Tass if he is banned from the game. So a Historian seems a better option. But I understand that there are reservations from some factions because what Tass did in the past. This is why I asked what job description is for the historian/assistant god. I don't know if letting him be the historian not the assistant god will be a valid choice for all of us? This is really a puzzled question that we need to work together and get it over.

Will letting all factions do one Tass manuvor to get to a level playing field and then we all agree not to do it again, will this sovle the problem? I know this sounds rubbish, but I really couldn't think of anything else.

I'm sorry for that, but while my attitude may not be the politest one, you have to understand the attitude of me and several others towards Tassadar, seeing the stunts he has pulled in the past.
Oh yes, now I know the (IMHO) minor knowledge Tassadar has gained, I would vote to let him go back to the Hive. It probably isn't hard to be silent about the little information he has gained. The only thing he would have to do is not give revealing comments in threads dealing with the direction in which the Hive should explore next.

Nah. Just let him return to the Hive without anyone else ever repeating the Tassadar Manoeuvre.

Second Function, you have a great heart. Now that we know what specific info Tass knows, I am more comfortable that maybe you are right that it doesn't matter that much. I guess by now most factions probably are not very far away from meeting their neighbors anyway so a miniban or self imposed restriction for a few turns may be all that is needed.

I'm unsure about how minor the info is, and whether I could trust anybody to act impartially knowing what he knows, unless I am mistaken about his knowledge?

Well that's exactly why you should refrain from commenting and making decisions on these issues.

And I think you would do a great job with it (except perhaps for possible PUT bashing ), but it's just your "Call the Courts!!!" thread that made me a little wary of your weak moments...

True, although that has settled down somewhat it seems. I think putting him back damages the game an awful lot more than an assistant God. I'd actaully like him there, he didn't Archaic bash too much that I saw in the last ACDG (hell, he was in the DLP) and I think he would be fun as it, what you want in an historian IMHO.
