i can't imagine them changing the rules for the basic game.
it would mean existing strategies for some civs would change.
maybe there'll be 2 "new games": classic civ3 rules and C3C rules ?!?
|
It would be possible, also consider the fact that many players have actually used the editor to tweak some balance things.

as have i. but the vast majority (the ones who don't visit poly and cfc and similar community sites) probably havn't
but still, i'll partly revoke my statement from above.
in PTW they also changed some things slightly (mainly upgrade paths for the archer and warrior path).

I'm not quite sure why having to change strategies for existing civs in a XP is being considered a downside. I would think this would create a desire to revisit civs given up on (read: England, Zulu) and increase overall replay value.

Well, I trust that the hardcore fans who really care about the different strategies and stuff really have modded something. You don't have to be a member of fansite... they likely never played online, but still quite possibly modded.

I hope they change a few civs traits they could use it. I hope they have a better overlap so we doi not have to play China all the time if we want a Mil/Ind civs with a decently timed UU.
I felt that PTW had too many Exp civs.

The more I hear, the more I like. The concept of seafaring trait, makes it seem to me that they would be ideal for archipelago maps. There were numerous suggestions as to what the traits might be. Something I think might make the seafaring trait powerful is allowing ships to carry one extra unit. The number of galleys I need in the early game to expand my civ on an archipelago map gets a little frustrating. I'd love to be able to send out ships early in the game that have a settler, a defender, and a unit to explore.
I really love the ideas of non-militaristic great leaders. Any ideas on what may prompt the appearance of these leaders? What abilities/functions will they have? For example, will a scientific great leader only be able to rush scientific wonders like Newton's, Copernicus, etc. Will there be an alternative? What would it be? Perhaps a bonus city improvement that increases science production?

To my what I do not like is that, at the beginning of the game, the expansionistic civilizations obtain to many scientific advances of goody huts since it causes that the other civilizations are delayed very. In addition they have many benefits of goody huts. In a game with several expansionistic civilizations the game happens very quickly. And is impossible conquer a goody huts.

Yes, they aren't new pics. They were all included in the earlier Gamespot preview.
