What would point of high-energy photon source be?
Can't get near as much energy as yo can with latest deep inelastic crap, and high-energy photons seem pretty useless on their own...

Can do a lot of really cool stuff with high fluence of X-rays, with a tunable beam, etc. Can really go way beyond the classical types of diffractions work done to date.
