It's a repackaging of an older and inferior game.

I heard that this Crown of The North will have all of EUII within it. Is this true. That is to say I heard the American version would.

The Strategy First publisher version will have the latest version of EU2 included, along with several user made scenarios.
Crown of the North also includes the translated version of Svea Rike III. Previously the game was only available in Swedish.

And Svea Rike III is the predecessor of EU I... IMHO, this paccage isn't worth it. If you don't like to replay the history of Sweden and it's neithbours that is.

No, Svea Rike III is a spin-off of EU1. Made and released shortly after EU1, and based on the same engine. SRIII have less deep and are more like a common RTS.
No attrittion, more units and so on.
It do however have an event system similar to the one in EU2.
Not a bad game, but not at all as good as EU in my opinon.

Are you sure of that? I seem to remember from Paradox' forums that it has been said that Svea Rike III is based on an older engine...

I am sure, it is based on the EU engine (at least they said so when it was released), and it was released after EU but before EU2. It seemed to me at the time that PARADOX may have been low on money after the extensive work on EU and until the money started rolling in from it, so they made a RTS based on EU to get som quick cach without to much work, just adapting
But EU2 is later.

I did a little search at the official site. I found out that is was released after Eu1, but it's based on an older engine!

Odd, I have a very clear memory of it ebing absed on EUs engine. But then again old memory, even clear ones, tend to be a bit disorted.

News of some-days-ago: It's not to find anywhere in magazines AFAIK, but at the official site, Johan(lead programmer) has confirmed that Paradox are working on an expansion pack for CotN, Hundred Years War!

Oh, I must have read too fast... I found the link at a place where people refered to it as a sequel, but I should of course have checked closer.
Hope they update the several years old engine.
