Got denied on each occasion it has been asked, me thinks your chances of getting a 'yes' are slim.
I would like a yes though.

Having a History Forum sounds interesting ... but would be the justification for having one?

That's exactly my point. What would a History Forum be? Are all threads automatically "topped" for historical purposes and all threads in the forum never expire?! Talk about a mess!

I don't understand. It would be a forum dedicated to history, all other threads would be deleted. No need for "toping"

Yes, there are many history threads in the OT. Granted the OT sometimes attracts some non-serious posters, but they usually avoid history threads expecting them to be dry and boring.

debate and learn the non-text-book history from different regions from where posters live.
I support Heresson, I'll love to see a history forum

Why can't that be done in the OT? It takes a lot of work to setup a new forum.
And it looks like there should be a hyperlink in your sig. Very deceptive.

No!
We've got enough forums as it is.
History has gone in the OT and history will continue to go in the OT.
(Hey, admin...this is the option that requires less work )

As history is not game related it would therefore be OFF TOPIC and put in the OT forum where it belongs

OT is a junkyard, and the lack of +1 shows it. While I think discussions over sex or college do not have to be rewarded,
I think pushing history to one row with them shows lack of respect to it. Also, valuable historical topics get lost between rugby and GWBush-bashing threads.

The Dinosaurs forum isn't game related either.

I wasn't saying history threads should be posted in the Dino forum, I was just saying it isn't game related.

The Civ3: Civilizations forum was kind of close to a history forum. Me wants it back!
