I saw this movie tonight - excellent film, I think. But then again I love all epidemic-type sole survivor movies.

Oh, yeah, the point of the thread.
Has anyone else seen it, and what did you think of it?

I thought that Britain was quarantined, and all of the rest of civilization arrived anyway, GF and i saw it. She hated it, i liked it.

Uh, I think that it was just the UK that got it. That pilot does speak Finnish though, but that is just a major plot hole. I mean, a Finnish air force? And I thought a virus needing 30 seconds to totally zombify you was a strech of the imagination
P.S. Is zombify a word?
P.S.S Do I care?

It said in the movie that there were reports of the virus in Paris and New York. How it got there is another problem.

KH, you have to get your facts straight man.. we still have the record of most pilot aces comparing to population.. and only one war .
Also our pilots have been rated still with five stars with only few countries to this day. Also many modern fighting tactics were adopted from us, still used today. Like many formations and tactics how to attack fleets with lesser amount of planes etc using the support fire from top planes that sneak unnoticed, then using multiple angles from top, back and side. So, the joke is on you!

Also, if it was only UK that got it, or let's say Europe plus NY, then how come FAF came to rescue? Look at the map, we're not exactly close to UK. For us to save you, it means we have already established military bases in central Europe, since we couldn't operate search and rescue stuff with such long distances effectively. This means our bases were fully functional, and looking for survivors all over Europe. And that only proves many things I knew for sure already .

That was propaganda aimed at the British to discourage them from leaving Britiain.

http://www.saunalahti.fi/~fta/FAFhist.htm was were I found the links, but they are not currently working. I have read the same from many other sites too. I'm also talking it compared to population. We are small country you know. 94 aces. Juutilainen had a list of 94 confirmed victories. I also might add that only few pilots died, but air force was engaging every day all the time. Juutilainen even attacked formation of 6 enemies, dropping 5 of them before the last one got away, confirmed. Sure, some countries have more aces, but their population is also huge. But that site is pretty good if you're into aviation and fighters, there are good links, and information about our air force.

I saw the film on DVD a few weeks back, it's really good. Am surprised the US release was so delayed.

I saw this film months and months ago - and watched it a few times on DVD. It's really good and one of the few films which has moments which are entirely unpredictable (love the futileness of the dad's death).
The air force at the end bears the marking of the RAF. I'm pretty sure the plane is British (could be from a base in Scotland or an aircraft carrier or something).
It's possible the plaguespread to Paris and New York (they could be in the hull of boats, etc). They could also feasably spread on trains. The only plaers that would be truly safe would be those tiny little backwards tows in the US which only have road routes to them and are surrounded by desert
The soldiers trying to rape a 13 y o girl and her gettig drugged up is very dark for a mainstream film - was it edited much in the US?

Sure it can carry RAF insignia. It's not like we wouldn't take your planes when you die. Of course we take them.

The DVD is really good - a lot of deleted scenes (some of which I think should have remained in the film) and an alternate ending in which Jim dies (in a hospital after he was shot) and it's just the two girls in the cottage at the end.

And the plane had been flown over the same place numerous times - why would the Finns be so obsessed with England?
And there are bases which the infected would have great difficulty reaching, so there would be some military left (though on the other hand. if this were the case, surely the soldiers at the mansion would have been in contact with them).
