Why would anyone buy...
Diablo characters, aka "avatars"?
I hear they sell for 200+ bucks!!! Why the **** would anyone want to buy a character for more than thrice the cost of the original game? Are people really that insane?

That's not as amazing as people spending real money to get equivalent characters.

I think he meant that the existence of cheating programs make it all the more amazing that somebody would spend money on a character.

pathetic.
I may be a geek, but I will never be as pathetic as that. I feel better about myself now
You can also sell credits to the online game Eve.
My brother was trying to sell about 10 million credits for $60. That's enough to pay for the game.

it's easy enough to just play the game and get a powerful character the normal way. i've beat the game through hell level with all 7 classes, they're ALL mid to upper 70's.
people are just idiots, that's all.

Connorkimbro:
i used to play Diablo too (although like two years after everybody else cause i got it from the bargain bin) and i had this one warrior guy who had real high strength and magic but almost no dexterity... was a complete waste cause everytime i went down to hell, i'd get hit by everything and couldnt outrun any missiles.

And is this Diablo or Diablo2?
In diablo you can use a cheater to get any character you want.
diablo2 you can't do that on the closed battle.net.
And I don't have the patience to play hours and hours to get all those uber items. I don't know what I do wrong, but I never find any good items.
I would never pay for them of course. I have fun even without the best items.

A friend of a friend literally makes thousands of dollars selling special weapons in Diablo.
Amazing.

Doesn't anyone want to buy a text file with my name in it? I'll even lower the price to 2 USD.

I'll sell you a bootlegged text file for only a buck! It might not have the same quality, though...

I doubt that even 80 characters are wroth ****. It's easier to get emperor status on apolyton than some of the items in d2. Do you have a grandfather sword? It's wery rare, and not that if you manage to find one on your own you want to get good stats with that too, then it will be valuable.
But, the whole point of the game is character deveploment and items, I think selling them with real money ruins the idea of the game. Pretty silly actually, but I'm just trying to point out why. It takes _a lot_ of time to get some items in the game. I know that it's a lot easier to make a 99 lvl char than find a grandfather.
Btw, how does the creating items with cheating work, can you make something that looks legit but isn't? I thought a long time that it was just a joke untill I saw some of the bugged items.

That can only be the case now if he's dealing in hacked items on closed battlenet.
Could you send me his address? Several angry mobs want to know.

You should tell them to become a subsidiary of the RIAA first, then it'll be legal.
