Sorry I had Jury duty today. AND GOT SELECTED FOR A JURY. I have to go back tomorrow.
But on Sunday, I shot a solid 85, for a combined net of 5 under. Normally it would have been enough except for one true sandbagger. A 10 handicap had 78 the first day and 75 the second day. A 10 handicap my A**. Even his friends were teasing him. So he got low gross, but since the same person couldn't win low net. I won that. The next person was 11 strokes back, so it really didn't matter what I shot on Sunday. Didn't stay long enough to hear how much prize money, but it will probably be around 150. But a very satisfying two day total. Only one penalty stroke for the two days, and it was on the 36th hole. I really didn't putt that well, so that made it an even more solid 36.

It's a well-known fact that hardcore Civ players
1. excel at situational analysis,
2. have long attention spans, and
3. have excessive free time on their hands.
All highly desirable qualities for a jury.
Oh, and RAH -- Nice citizenship, dude!

Yeah, but what's the old joke.
Quite a justice system we have. Your fate is decided by 12 people that were too stupid to avoid getting on a jury.

Hey, War4, I know you're out BC way, but what city are you near? My company's rep in that area is a comp nerd -- maybe I can ask him for ISP suggestions...

Note TO FF. I had originally thought I would take tomorrow off so I would be available to play tonight. But, since jury duty went two days, I'm still swamped at work and will be unable to do so.
Unless a miracle happens.

That's ok... FF told me last night that he wouldn't be available as well since he had an important errand to run early on Friday morning...
Here's praying for a miracle anyway

Only one penalty stroke for the two days, and it was on the 36th hole.

Ah, that dogleg left par 5? Was it the water protecting the green or the trees on the left off the tee? Congrats though!

To bad about Friday, I'll be looking for you Saturday.
After I read the quilty of burglary verdict, they read the guys rap sheet (since he didn't testify so it was never introduced). It took the DA over 5 minutes to read all of his convictions. The women who held out that he wasn't guilty the longest couldn't look anybody else on the jury in the eyes after that. 5 burglary convictions and over 19 drug possesion and dealing convictions. I don't think we got this one wrong.
And the one penalty shot. I hit it left but stayed out of the water just past the turn. (I hit it GOOD) but a tree was blocking me. I tried to hit a wedge over it to lay up around 130. There was a tree root just buried behind the ball that I didn't notice till I swung. The club skipped off of it and I rolled my second shot into the bushes down the left side. Had to take a drop and lay up. knocked the next one on the green and just lipped out the put so I made 7.
BUT still, two real steady rounds.
