Jeneba has set up a research complex on the borders of Rubinic territory. Scientists are studying native flora and fauna in search of answers. A strange crimson lifeform covers vast tracts of Rubinic territory and movement through these areas is extremely difficult. Preliminary results suggest that this lifeform is related to the fierce attack on hydoponics module C-1187 and its escort more than 20 years ago.

By the end of M.Y. 2123 Brother Lal announces that the Peacekeepers have initiated the building of Chiron's first Secret Project. Brother Lal has appropriately named the project: The Merchant Exchange.

The scientific progress at Jeneba Complex has surprised the entire Rubinic society. The abundance of native flora near Rubinic borders seemingly makes field studies a breeze. It has taken less than six months to find ways to clear large patches of the crimsom lifeform. The soil beneath is supposed to be very fertile.

GEF-2 reports that it located something that appears to be manufactured or constructed. Gaian xeno-engineers and xeno-scientists are absolutely baffled as to its origin, composition, and purpose.

The absence of hard facts has done nothing, however, to stop what Lady Deirdre Skye called "irresponsible speculation". All agree that the construction is beyond the capability of the mind worms. Is--or was--there other life on Chiron? Is--or was--that life native or extra-planetary? And in any case, will it be back?

In an unrelated move, Lord Chip has ordered sensors installed at the borders of Gaian territory.

There might be survivors beyond those patches - and we should make it a priority reaching the... eh... other side!? Our current exploits of the planet's fragile crust is wrong. A Scout Unit has found what seems to be a passage to the other side of the crimson fields. The 'passage area' has already been explored years ago, but apparantly without anyone noticing the passage. This is good news to the Rubinites.
Three decades have passed on Chiron. In the old days on earth - thirty years would have been a generation. Chiron surely keeps us young. Also, analysts have completed the 3rd Decade Report.
