Did I just get called a silly troll?
Well Trip, it (does he still post?) was a question, nothing more, since I haven't seen any posts.
What exactly is the poetic justice?
Anyway 3 straight posts...........gotta be worth a -5% Ming.

Nah, there are plenty others to take that title.

Because the biggest spammer can't be found posting anywhere, yet his post count still goes up. I demand the spam show itself.

If that was the case, you would be missing a lot of posts by now

The Civ3 community owes him alot for the demo games. of course, he has had nothing to do with the other civ2 and CtP games but that does not make those accomplishments any less.

yet another thread being turned into a civ 2 vs. civ 3 and their place in poly's history argument. :sigh:
edit: or rather their respective worth of contributions to poly.

Trip, even with the spam, is simply outstanding. (Maybe it's in spite of the spam, maybe it's because of it...we'll never know )

I used to worry about my post count but after Ming slapped me with a -20% PCR I just can't be bothered any more. Now I just hang out in the OT other then the odd trip here when I'm bored.

Vanished?
Nope. Glad to see trip remembers the bet, so I don't have to dig up the thread.
I have a rather slow modem, so it is best to post when no one else does.
Will attach the picture when ready.
Just a little longer.

You know you could wait a bit Dr. Spike.
The thread, of the original bet:
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=80698
Red= Trip
Blue= Obiwan18
You won't pass Jaybee assuming Jaybee maintains his current PC. He only needs 1000 posts, while you need 5000. Give it up.
Bah. I got 5200 in 4 active months of posting, I can get another 5000 in the same amount of time.
866 posts needed for Jay Bee.
@ 5.36 ppd, approx. 150 days, or 5 months.
To get 5000 posts in 5 months requires a postcount of 1000 posts/month or >30 ppd. You won't do this. Not even Mao sustained this rate over a period of 5 months.
Right now, your postcount hovers at half of this rate. Also, Jay Bee's postcount is currently accelerating, so 150 days may be too conservative.
Note, it actually took around 135 days, so I was close.
Sorry, but I had an average of about 33 PPD for quite a while.
In the last year I've been here, as I said, I've only been fully active for about 4 of those months. With the PTW DG and the Civ 3 ISDG, I plan on being highly active for quite some time...
Registration date:09/04/2002

Second post: 02/05/2002
Almost a month later. It's taken you 9 months of active posting to get 5000 posts. 'Fully active' assumes you will maintain your current rate, which I would consider a spike. You stopped posting as frequently once you hit emperor. You've only been increasing for a period of about 2 months.
There were many many months where I did not post hardly at all. It was not until late-June that the Civ 3 DG started, which is when I started posting the most. During that time, I had over 30 posts per day, and that's after being inactive for April, May and most of June. After I left from being President of the C3DG I was inactive for another 2 or 3 months, then I came back for the PTW DG. So that's 3 months and another 3 months, so I've really been active for 4-5 months. That's an average post per day of around 34.
People do get tired of posting, or stuff in Real Life interferes. If you want to be the next deity, you better hope that you have smooth sailing.
I'll call that bet. To be honest, I wish I instead had more of a life to worry about.
First we need to set terms. If you fail, I get to choose your avatar. If you succeed, you get to choose mine. We will both have to keep the avatar for a week. That fair?
As long as it's not something against the rules, I accept.
Then we have a deal.
Good luck Trip.
Bah. Luck is for the incapable.

Found it finally.
Sorry for the delay, but it took a bit to scan through 70 pages in the Apolyton OT archive.

Is Jaybee informed about this bet?
I'm sure He's not interested, he belong to the old school of civ2 gamers and probably soon a lot of DemoGamers will pass through him

Now that Avatars have returned, we can see the +1 avatar exhibited in all his glory.

Maybe you should PM him to make sure he doesn't 'accidentally' miss the thread now avatars are back.
Or better yet, PM Ming with evidence of the bet and ask him to change it.

Hmmm... I've seen better pieces of avatar work, but it should do the trick.
Just let me know if he wimps out and doesn't use it.
"We" have ways of making it happen
