As I understand it, he won the 2000 election by throwing 1,000s of black voters in Florida off the registrar so their democratic votes didn't count.
Strange how less than 10% of black voters vote for Bush? I don't think so.
So, which minority will he pick on next to make sure he gets in?
If that's your idea of fair and square... don't play cricket. Ever.

but the democrats threw away all the military votes- most of whom voted for Bush
It's a wash either way. Bush would have won.

They've F*CKED everything up. Why don't you and your family just go back to Lebanon, your politics seem to be similar to the Syrian fascists running Lebanon.
I think even if a president wins the Electoral votes, they are only legitamite if they win the popular vote, hence Bush is not legitamite in my eyes.

Most people have always discounted the so called "silent majority". This president is in tune with what their vision of America is. It will be very hard to unseat him unless there is a drastic turn for the worse.
Unemployment is up...but not to to bad of a level historically.
Most people who want jobs can find them...not all, but most.
Inflation is under control...interest rates are low...stocks are rebounding.
No major terrorist attacks in US since 9/11...Taliban and Saddam are gone.
Prescription drugs have been added to medicare.
Taxes have been cut.
Each one of these decisions and rsults are debateable to a degree but the point is that Bush has addressed a wide range of groups with success.

Easily? Heck no. They'd have a really hard time of it. Just look at the polls.

For the first time, more likely voters (47%) say it's time for someone new in the White House, compared to 46% who said the President deserves to be re-elected.
Not that that isn't between the special Bush margin of, eh, error...

Does anyone remember the famous Dukakis tank photo? That's what the cartoon reminded me of.

I think a pretty funny cartoon would be Bush landing on a carrier, or something like that, and declaring victory.

I always find it amusing that when a republican is popular he/she is said to be "handling" the public by leftwingers. When a demo is popular they are the first to point out that it must be what the people want. Did you ever think that Bush is so popular because most people favor what he is doing?

exactly... democrats are now so mad that there's a republican administration and congress not realizing that this appears to be what the people want... even ignoring the president's election and the mess of that, from the mid-term elections, it is clear that the american people wanted republicans in office.
thanks

You would prefer it to stop? Or do you just think $3 billion is just a drop in the bucket for the Israeli arms industry?

why don't we stop military funding to israel and give that money as economic aid to Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon on the condition that they crack down on terrorism and take no military actions on Israel?

I'd be for it. I doubt that Syria, Jordon, and Syria-light would go for that "infringement upon their sovernty" however.

Of course they favour what he's doing. If I was convinced that Saddam had enough anthrax to kill the entire world three times over, or that chemical weapons posed a significant danger, or that the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqis, or that 9/11 couldn't have been prevented, I'd be behind Bush too.

We shouldn't give money to terrorists! WTF ARE YOU SMOKING! If anything, we should withdraw the support we give to Saudi Arabia... I would have to examine the relationship between Israel and the US further before commenting on whether or not we should give more, less, or no funding to them. But I'm against giving any money to those terror-supporting Arab states. **** them!

What does that have to do with the Israeli arms industry? Israeli arms industry would LOVE it to stop, since we'd make our own airplanes, and our own rifles, and they'd be good ones too. (esp. the rifles. )
You know that one of the reasons for the military help to Israel was to prevent the creation of a competing aircraft to the US industries. Because everytime the US or someone else has denied israel something, it just got it for itself by other means. The reason to Israel's nukes is the US denial of it's nuclear umbrella, for example.
Now I don't think that the US assistance is a bad thing, but it is a mixed blessing.

i dont see how that would be infringment though... they'd be getting money... and their enemy, Israel will be getting less money...
but i guess this is one of those solutions that seem so simple and would seem to work so great but would only fail utterly.
