Better yet, listen the sound of the guns!
All of Germany is jubilant as its most expensive arm, the kriegsmarine, has kept the nation's honour.
LONDON and its neighboring Leicester are captured by our daring seamen!
At 06:00 today november the 13th, troops under General Lunderdorf entered the capitol city after an opening bombardment by the Kriegsmarine's capital ships. Surpise was total: 3 enemy divisions were surounded and anihilated.
It must be noted though that it was not the kriegsmarine's main target: The Danish city of Copehangen was selected as the initial landing site, but as soon reports came from the navy that the enemy capital was lightly defended, the marines were redirected.
This success allowed the bombardment of france's northern coast that easied the capture of Le havre, albeit at a heavy cost by the army.
Raging naval battles all over the northern sea: A most promising trap was sprung for the RN but to the dismay of German planners the bulk of RN was not there: Despite that,4 capital ships were sunk along with 8 smaller let alone that the "inactivity" of the RN left England's southern coasts vunerable, leading to the invasion of London.
Meanwhile at the Ostfront the savage fighting continiues:Many a time our men were forced to drive the ruskies by the bayonet, and reinforcements poured in Koenigsburg. Skirmishes south of warsaw.
Prussia will not fall to the Slavs!
.................
...............KRIEGSMARINE URGENT REPORT............
"It is my honour to inform his majesty Emperor Pericles that naval forces under my personal command successfully engaged the Russian baltic fleet virtually anihilating it. Minimal looses. The battlecruiser "Frederick" then proceeded to support land operations in eastern Prussia.
Glory to Germany!
Long live the Kaiser!
Prince Wilhem"

The degenerated americans have no place next to the glorious allies of the reich.
However the Kaiser is willing to negotiate an alliance with the Yankees if their goverment agrees to a monthly tribute of 150 gold.

Ha! the shockwaves of our London raid are thundering the world!
But dudes in all honesty i don't expect to hold on London for more than 2 turns-the RN outnumbers the Kriegsmarine 4-1. Let alone that this was not a pre-planned operation. The main campaign for november, target Le Havre, failed.

Forgot:
The kaiser excited by this military sucess demands from his ottoman allies an equally notable achivement soon.
He hopes that news about the fall of Skopje will soon reach Berlin.
The 100.000 strong expeditionary force under Liman von Sanders was not send in the Balkans for nothing.

I already know i am heavily outnumbered, but i assure you the Kriegsmarine will fight valiantly.
To Death and Glory!
Seriously now, some points for Jim panse to correct:
1.London lacks coastal fortress
2."Ship of the line" refers to the pre-steam era of ships. Better change it to pre-dreadnaught.
3.I personally think that the original civ2 rules for naval combat were superb. I mean ships had the same defence and attack(a naval engagement is an engagement-no holes to dig in or shelter), and with the ocean tiles offering on defence bonus the most experienced or technologically superior won, not necessarily the attacker as is now.

And I have to say the russian navy was a little more bigger (It may look like im thinking only about myself, but i agree with palaiolog with those things, exept the ship battle rules)

Small?
One world war division was about 17.000-20.000 men.
Therefore the three divisions destroyed in london would amount to 60.000 casualties.
Unfortunately due to the limits of the civ2 combat engine(all battles are to the death) a single powerfull naval vessel can bombard three units out of existence pretty easily.
Now if the ship of the line(or pre-dreadnaught) had something like an attack of 15(instead of 25) attacking a fortified unit supported by coastal defences would be something to think twice about.

Well.. Look at your units in the Western Front... You got.. about 5 times more units than i do. And France + Britain had as large armies as Germany did during this time..

Mmmm..... i admit i haven't looked at the allies' units.
But i think that jim was fairly accurate in this. He had a detailed Order of battle so he should have made things right.
