Preliminairy lab results indicate I'm heading for surgery soon , nothing is final as of yet but it does look that way.
If it goes to plan I should be back in about 14 days after the operation.
The moment I get confirmation I'll make sure I have someone doing my turns for the time being.
Damned chrnical diseases... ah well...

Hope it goes well Alva. At least it isn't the NHS here - they seem to be developing a habit of taking out the wrong bits when they do surgery on patients!

Breaking news !!!!!
Operation has been postponed !!!!
Well, at least for now. If the medicine I started taking today improves my overall condition ( not the disease itself, which is crohn btw), operation may not be needed for as long as the disease itself doesn't get worse.

Well, that's some good news. A friend of mine had Chrohn's Disease and didn't get over it until he had surgery. Hopefully you won't need to go through that like he did.

I've already had 2 on seperate occasions with about a 5 year interval ( last one was 6 or 7 years ago, yep I'm an old geezer ).
The first had about 6 operations and spend the better part of year in hospital. That when then found out I have crohns, I was just 18 at the time
( and in the army where they f*cked a couple of times , they basically had no idea what they were doing...)

Sounds like the army hospitals here in Korea. Is military service compulsary in Belgium? It is here in Korea. All young men have to spend 26 months doing military service. I like Korea but I'm glad I wasn't born here.

It used to be 12 months here ( 10 if you went to Germany like I did), but switched shortly after, early 90 IIRC.
We now have a completely professional army

Come on. Germans are pacifists now. Which irritates Americans who have been actively immitating the old sterotypical "German war machine" for the past couple of decades.
Personally, I don't see how Germans could ever remain pacifistic having to live so close to France............

As the British found out, beating up the French on the battlefield gets boring after a few hundred years and it is time to move on and do someone else over.

Did the English ever conquer/occupy Belgium, not sure about that, but then again, there have been so many who have .
You could just be the only ones in Europe who never have, an idea maybe .
Just one request: DON'T bring your food with you, ok!!

No, I don't think the English have ever been at war with Belgium. As long as you keep selling us your beer everything will be fine.
