Diplomats: where and what
We currently have 4 Diplomats being supported by the Imperium's coffers - they take money badly needed for military support costs, so we must make them work.

This thread covers the locations of the diplomats in our world and what the FAM sees as viable missions for them. It is, however, the choice of the Imperium's citizens to decide upon this.

Apologies for the lack of screenshots - Apolyton will not let me upload, it seems, so I will attempt again tomorrow morning my time. They should be up within 24 hours. For the time being I will attempt to describe there locations sufficiently.

Diplomat 1

This diplomat is located to the West of the Imperium, far to the South of the closest other civ, the Romans. It is next to a hut. The clear options should be
 • pop that hut or leave the job for the Chariot nearby (3-4 turns movement away)?
 • continue to explore, or go to the nearest civ (Rome) for bribery/embassy missions?

Diplomats 2 and 3
These diplomats are located at the Eastern edge of the Imperium, near Ruin and Rack, and facing the vast wastelands that separate us from the Americans' lands. Diplomat 2 is on goto orders to a mountain near a small area of unexplored terrain. A larger area of unexplored terrain to the vast North-East is close as well. Diplomat 3 is East of Diplomat 2, 6 turns from the closest know American city, Chicago. There are small areas of unexplored terrain nearby, but not much compared with the area that Diplomat 2 is approaching.

Natural options for these two Diplomats would be:

Diplomat 2:
 • Continue to the Goto point and then explore to the NE
 • Cancel Goto and proceed East to the Americas for Exploration

Diplomat 3
[*]Explore the small areas of unknown terrain nearby[*]Proceed towards America for exploration
Diplomat 4
This diplomat is FAR to the North-East, further north of anything, and slightly East of Pestlience, the polar colony of the Imperium. It is on Goto orders to a grassland to the East. This place is still 10+ turns further West of where unexplored terrain is, then it comes close to where the American lands lie.

Options would be:
 • continue East and join an Imperium Legion in exploring the world
 • head towards America to join diplomats 2 and or 3 in exploring near America, ready for embassy establishment there

We kinda need a little bit of cash for that. I am not able to look at the save ATM, but from memory we have far less than 100 gold.

100 gold? Wow, we have been spending it a lot faster than I discovered it for us! We should be keeping some more than that aside for emergencies. Well, maybe, we *did* have emergencies. I would never consider Shade a waster of gold. If he used it, we needed to do it!

Do I get +1 just for voting?

Or do I actually need to post - like this for example?

I don't think voting counts as a post.

I don't lik ethis situation either but we only have 6 or 7G profit/turn(and we didn't get much gold from huts) this combined with the constant need to rush temples/units to quell unrest is kinda hard for our treasury...but look on the bright side we can (if needed) turn our Xin-cities to Cashcows if we really really want to buy some nice cottage in let's say America or Greece

1: leave for chariot
2: head for rome
3: goto goto point
4: America ho!
5: America ho!

edit: nevermind, I voted in the new one.

The ones heading to America should be used for some kind of mischief other than exploring.

Gold, schmold. The sooner we get to Fundy, the sooner our unhappiness problems go away, and we get free unit support and tons of cash.

If we want gold, we can Xin for it. But frankly, if we do that the science rate will drop to 'never'.

Of all ways to get more gold, the most satisfying one is as plunder from capturing another civ's city.
