Funny accents
What are the funniest accents?
Here's one:
New Zealand male (educated). Doesn't sound much like me, but I learned to speak in the UK and have a hybrid accent.
New Zealand accent
And here's my all time favourite, the Geordie (NE England).
Geordie
This sounds just like my aunt.
Post yours, or those you find amusing

Some accents are funny but several give me a hard on when a girl speaks with an accent.

Indian accents make me laugh the most.

One of the hottest guys I ever knew (*ahem* in ye olde Biblical sense) was Australian. The accent has triggered in me some sort of automatic response, kind of like Pavlov's dog. BOING!

Yes, but English isn't their first language.
I've been trying to get an audio clip of Jimmy Nail, but I can't find one.

The two from Quebec are both by native French speakers. Neither sounds at all like me. The Ontarian doesn't sound at all like an Anglo Quebecer either. The New Brunswick accent isn't far off.

New Zullund!
What's funny is that the educated ones that go overseas and sound funny don't speak nearly as funny as those New Zullunders who don't!
There's a famous bit of graffiti coming out the tunnel on Sydney's eastern suburbs train line that says:
"AUSTRALIA SUX!"
Underneath a clever aussie wrote:
"NEW ZEALAND NIL"

Ah, here's how English was meant to be spoken -- flat and emotionless. Huzzah!
I'm amazed they don't have a sample of the South Side accent, though. "Der are tree tings you godda know before you get on da bus." "Da Bears." Etc.

southern US accents can be sweet when a female has it, but upsetting when a male does.
Nothin makes me more at home than a southern gal who says "Hi" with her sweet voice and smile (and daisy duke jean shorts )

I think I'm still in love the with girl who did the recordings for the streetcars in Augsburg Germany when I was there is the eighties. After a lifetime of only hearing German spoken by concentration camp guards and soldiers it was nice to hear the softer side of it.
As for funny accents, the best place in the U.S. to find them is Louisianna, which has quite a variety.

The habit mid-westerners have of inserting "R" sounds into words which don't have Rs in them is quite funny. Nothing like hearing someone say they are going to wa rsh their car.

I stand corrected.
I was once in a restaurant in Glebe, Aus. I was told by an English gent at the next table (ok, I wasn't TOLD, so much as he raised his voice enough so that the ENTIRE RESTAURANT COULD HEAR HIM) that I had a HORRIBLE AMERICAN ACCENT.
Hee hee hee! Oh yes, truly horrible!

My g/f actually said this to me once in total seriousness. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm still not sure she understands what an absurd statement it is.
