I suggest that pairs of first round will be played in the first post order:
1. Muxec-Heresson
2. mrmitchell-DrSpike
3. Carolus Rex - Sir Ralph
4. MTG - Jaguar Warrior.
Please confirm that you agree with this or suggest changes.

Sounds ok to me. How do we determine color, or do we play one game each way?
Also, is this a Swiss or other type elimination, or round-robin?

I'll play.
I think I should be able to hold my ground for 30-40 moves against you experts.

Eli can take my place if it's agreed.........'correspondence' style is not really my thing, and I don't have time right now anyway.
Happy wood-pushing.

I'm wondering if I should go for my record game... I can't remember exactly since it was ages ago... check-mate in 5 moves or something (and that's me losing, not me winning).
Nah! I'll just watch now.

I'd almost forgotten about my losses to Julius .
The Kramnik of Apolyton ..he just doesn't make mistakes..well,not many and not big ones.I only managed 1 decent position in 4 games ..which I lost in the end

Considering I've averaged a game a year in the last two decades, you might get to see one heart-ripping, if you're lucky.

I've played quite a bit but my game never really seems to get any better. I can murder some people without trying and others can do the same to me. In a crowning acheivement of humiliation many moons ago, a German exchange student checkmated me with a pawn. He at least had the good graces to laugh loudly and call everyone in the class over to examine his fantastic game.

OK, do we wait for Muxec and Heresson to play first, or do we all start simultaneously?

I'll play. I'm shaky on location terminology so I may need some extra explaining when laying a move out. Ridicule and derision is, or course, expected.

I'm good to go, if you are. I don't have a set here in the office, but I'll bring one Wednesay. I can get through the opening just fine without one until then, though.
Do we assume the order that Muxec typed out is white - black, or do you want to do it another way?
Edit - just downloaded Winboard, so I'm set for a board here.

I suggest that two pairs 1. Junsky-Harry Seldon and 2. MtG-JW will start playing now. I'll not play vs Heresson but i'll play with Sir Ralph instead. If Heresson will confirm he will play next pair.

MtG, where did you find winboard? I've been looking for it but every place available for download seems to redirect to tim-mann.org, which looks to be offline.

Harry Seldon, you'd better create thread for your game.

Unfortunatelly, that I wrote it's a nice idea, it doesn't mean I can participate. I have no stable intrnet connection, and anyway, I'm jyst packing for my holidays
But have fun.
