Yes the dutch are in there.
But there are more great news; tropical birds, stone, llamas are new resources.
There are ritual sacrifices and slaves.
Commonwealth alliances

My run down in the 'preview' thread has a good list of everything from screens. Yet, I don't see where the Dutch figure in.
Jade is indeed a resource, same with exotic birds.
As for the Mesoamerican scenario, that has llamas and maize also as resources.

Hi Guys,
Just noticed two new Civ types-Agricultural and Seafaring!!!! Also, Scientific leaders will be in!! These were things raised quite often both here, and over at CfC!!! So, I guess we can say that, from this info alone, the Firaxis people are DEFINITELY listening to us!!
Oh, btw, I hope the ritual sacrifice and slavery thing, from the Mesoamerica scenario, can be utilized for the standard Game, through the editor!!!
Yours,

Agricultural and Seafaring? Is this only for scenarios?

Yes, I see it now. All the civs have been reconfigured. I suspect that the Vikings are now Seafaring/Militaristic, for example. The Incans may be Expansionist/Agricultural.

Actually, I remember suggesting other great leaders, for those who don't want to be warmongers. My suggestion was for Great scientists, great diplomats, great Religious leaders, great Merchants and great industrialists!! Maybe the mention of Great Scientists might mean that some of the other great leaders I mentioned above will also be in the game!!!! Fingers Crossed!
Seafaring and Agricultural Civs were also mentioned here, and it seems like they DID pay attention . Hopefully they also payed attention to our requests for changes to trade and embargoes (like CtP-style 'trade routes') commodity trading (food and production shields!!) and unit trading, and Diplomacy and the UN!!! Also, the existence of all these new ages for scenarios might indicate an ability to add/delete ages through the editor!! Of course, all of this is speculation, at best!! All of the beta-testers amongst us, of course, know whats in and whats not, and they are probably having quite a giggle at some of our wilder speculations!!! Don't worry though, guys, I'm sure we all FORGIVE you .
Yours,
The_Aussie_Lurker.

Remember everyone, BreakAway is doing this game. Only 1 guy from Firaxis has anything to do with it.
P.S. Agricultural and Seafaring rock.

Trip,
There are at least four guys from Firaxis working on it - including the artist.

The programming, designing (including decisions on what and what not to add) and most "everyday work" is done by BreakAway.

That diplomacy screen with the Dutch in it is for the World War Two scenerio. The diplomacy image looks like Ceaser. If it is ceaser then that probably means the Dutch aren't really in, except in that scenerio.

One of my great hopes is that, if the mechanics for a certain 'ability' exist within a scenario, then it will also, hopefully, turn up within the editor!! This is certainly what I hope for with both Slaves and Human Sacrifice!!!!
What would be better still is if unit trading is in, as well, 'cause then you can engage in a 'slave trade'!!! What I also hope for (in addition to what I mentioned above), are building dependant units, building dependant resources and resource dependant techs!!! Also, units and buildings whose effects can be countermanded by imporvements and wonders built with the discovery of new techs!!
Yours,
The_Aussie_Lurker.

They're referring to the Diplomacy screen from the WWII scenario, showing all of the Civ relationships. The reason why they felt it shouldn't have been shown is that all of the leaderheads are clearly just 'place-holder graphics'-like Liz for the Commonwealth!! I guess, though, that it was a good example of the 'locked alliance', so it should have been shown, in my opinion.

Hi Panag,
Yes, I've seen the screenshots (and they look INCREDIBLE!!!) What I was saying was that there was, in my opinion, nothing wrong with showing that particular screenshot in the preview-'cause it did convey useful information to the reader!!
Sorry if my poor use of English confused you but, hey, what do you expect-I am an AUSTRALIAN . After all, we massacre the English language ALMOST as much as the American's can .

Looks like the WWII scenario is Pacific. We'll have to mod our own Euro WWII (or even world WWII).
And Fascism is Back! Also mentioned is the "return" of the "feudal" government type. But I don't recall this ever being a Civ government type. CTP maybe?

i really like some ideas built in the scenarios (enslaving, units gaining abilities, etc.)
but i REALLY hope these options are also usable for custom units and scenarios! it would be a shame to have such great features, but lock it for the rest it for the rest of the game...
PLEASE FIRAXIS, don't do that
otherwise it looks a lot better than PTW. and because i'm just SP player, there's a lot more new stuff here than in PTW.
however. new units and resources, general scenarios, new civs, etc. isn't too special, because the community has come up with some good things too.
what makes it worth buying are the really new things (incl. the things first mentioned and volcanos, swamp ( don't forget to make worker actions more customizable!), etc.
i'm really looking forward to this one!!!
