Albert, if you dont want to run games or the latest tech, just wanna do usual home/office stuff, plus connect to the internet, yours is plenty good enough.
On the other hand, mine is 2.8Ghz Pentium IV, 512 MB DDRRAM, 128 MB Geforce IV MX440, 60GB HDD.

P4 1700
235 MB SDR :O(

19' monitor
5:1 Dolby card/speakers
DVD CD Burner
and a laptop that still gets plenty of use
150 Mhz

What?
The Pentium 4 is already the longest-surviving brand-name Intel has ever had, Prescott is most likely going to be branded the Pentium 5.
October 28th is the launch date.

I would normally keep it, it's still quite fine for gaming.
But my bro needs a computer for college, and if I ditch that one (which is noisy as all hell), I can get a new Pentium 5.

So you'd recommend the graphics card (ti4600)? I was looking at that and a DDR M/B (and the ram obviously) and leave the rest of the system, what do you think? my specs are about 4 down from the top of the thread

It's a good card, I'm not sure if it's the best value out there for video cards right now though. Don't pay attention much to the mid-range ones.

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2400 processor
512MB PC2700 RAM
Sound Blaster Audigy (redundant because of the onboard sound... I bought it for my old computer, thinking I could use it when I built a new one. oh well)
Radeon 9700 PRO

Plextor R/W drive.
Win XP
Still... I have a heck of a lot of computer problems, and shity performance in some games. Computers just hate me. (And I hate them)

Lives and learns I guess. I'll stick with my current machine until end of 2004, when I'll get a laptop (thats when I'm moving out so excuse to spend more money on things I dont need).

I almost threw that one out of the window because of the heat and thus noise it produced
-
AMD 2000 XP
Radion 9600 PRO 128 (coming from GF1 SDR the original, got it today , man some of these new games have fantastic graphics with full settings , I played them before, but with everything off it just aint the same.)
756 DDR 2100
Aopen AK77-8X MAX
80GB & 40 GB HD
cd-writer
creative SB live
19 inch monitor
Really would like to keep this one for a while (at least until all the new stuff such as SATA, PCI express..., etc has had a chance to develop). So I guess my next machine is going to be completely new.
