POLL: Difficulty
Hi all,
This poll is to decide about the difficulty we want to use.
I only included Hard and Impossible as I can't imagine anyone want to use anything else
So feel free to vote
(Just in case I included abstain/banana as well and if someone doesn't agree with H/I, please post so......)

I voted impossible, but either is fine for this type of a game. I just love to see how others do things. It forces me to reconsider what I am doing.

I voted for Hard since this is our first time out. If we like this & want to crank up the stress, we can push it to the next level next time. (But then again I'm still a little new to this game.)
I'm willing to play at either level.

I voted impossible, but if I have to play at hard thats no problem.
I don't think we will get a super production race so impossible would be that much more difficult.

I would hate to see any one not play if impossible is choosen, if anyone feels that way please speak up. We do not want to lose anyone, that is interested.

I voted for impossible too, and I think that impossible is too easy, but there is no way to make it harder :-)

I'll still play impossible, I just won't be as much use at that level. On my own, I never really played impossible enough to get good.

Bakalov we can change every race to militaristic zenophobes with sub/lith/tol/prod/uni in a mineral rich small galaxy for you(with corion 2), while you pick the junk race :P
Also, if you are feeling up to it, you can update the ai's ship designs with Corion 2. Bet they wouldn't be so easy if all those doom stars and titans they build had damper fields,heavy armor,reinforced hull,heavy autofire disruptors,etc :P
Of course I myself have been too scared to do either one of these.

I'm willing to go with impossible as well, but I'd like a huge map (which will make it easier for us I think) -- which sort of makes this more of a compromise. The other alternative might be hard level on a tiny map with 8 other ai -- the most challenging Hard situation for me.

Old N Slow,
Impossible isn't so hard. I am not playing so regular anymore, but I used to beat the AI (8 players/huge) 6 out of 10. And 2-3 out of those were just because of bad location, sitting in a corner and nothing to reach..........

Why worry about changing the vote? Most everyone that wants to play is pretty active in the DG threads. As long as we kind of reach a consensus then it shouldn't matter. If it's a tie, I defect.

Is there anyone who voted for hard and still has not enough courage to try impossible? If we choose our race well then even a nonexperienced player will be able to beat impossible without much effort ....

I wouldn't worry about changing the offical poll per se. We can do the impossible. What we may want to do is have a poll for map size noting that impossible is considered by many to be easiest on the huge size map.
I noticed that there's been no discussion on tactical comba. random events nor antaran activity. I think that tactical combat is the way to go, antarans are easy to overcome & should be included but I find that the ranodm events are more irritating than worthwhile. Another poll?

As I haven't voted yet in the other poll, I might choose to put 10 points for Anti's and 10 for no random events.
But I 'planned' to have run off polls for the different areas. Like size/players/age/picks.

Server lost my post on this, so one more try.
Tactical - really there is no other way to play IMO.
yes you could do a challenge with no tactical, but it is
so boring to not be able to design and refit ship, I just
can't hack it. What is there for me to do, if I can't
design my ships? Can't refit them, isn't that what the
other moo games have?
Anties - does not matter to me, but since I do not
capture them for tech, they are boring as well.
Random - same as anties, after umpteen games, they mostly are just a nusiance.
