Log-in to the Internet.
The question means: "What percentage of people are able to access the internet on their computers and actually use it?"

7 C (This question makes no sense to me, but my best interpretation would give a result of C)

Actually... I was waiting to see if somebody could get them right. But unfortunately, I haven't been given the ammo to dump on some other internet Ad executives.
I really thought somebody could get them all right.
Here are the answers.
Q 1: Which local market area spends the most time online?
A: Seattle
B: New York
C: San Francisco
D: San Diego
Answer: C. In San Francisco, users spent an average of 16 hours 39 minutes on the Web for the month of June, compared to a national average of 12 hours 36 minutes.
Q 2: What percentage of active online users are connected via Broadband?
A: 25%
B: 37%
C: 44%
D: 52%
Answer: B. 37% of all active online users are connected via Broadband connection.
Q 3: Of the following, which industry utilizes pop-up ads the most?
A: Financial Services
B: Software
C: Entertainment
D: Travel
Answer: D. 22% of all advertising impressions served by the Travel industry are pop-ups. Comparatively, only 5% of all online advertisements are pop-ups.
Q 4: What's the percentage of adult site visitors that are women?
A: 17%
B: 24%
C: 28%
D: 36%
Answer: C. 9 million women visit adult sites, comprising of 28% of all visitors.
Q 5: What percentage of the online adult population downloaded music or an MP3 in the last 30 days?
A: 22%
B: 33%
C: 44%
D: 55%
Answer: A. 22%, representing 31.1 million adults online, downloaded music/MP3 in the last 30 days.
Q 6: Which industry utilizes the most rich media advertising?
A: Entertainment
B: Automotive
C: Web Media
D: Travel
Answer: A. 37% of all Entertainment advertisements are rich media, whereas 11% of all advertisements are rich media ads.
Q 7: What percent of people in the U.S. with Internet access actually log in?
A: 60%
B: 70%
C: 80%
D: 90%
Answer: B. 134.9 million, or 73% of the U.S. population were actively online for June 2003.
Just about 150 Internet Media/Advertising "experts" responded, and the best anybody could get was 6, and the average was less.
Here is how Apolyton did.
Japher, Stefu, Droque - 4 right
Zopperoni, Richelieu, FrustratedPoet - 3 right
Eli, Panang, SkankyBurns, Cinch, Soul Surviver, Comrade Tassadar, dv8ed - 2 right
Slowwhand, Mercator, Gangerolf, Solver, Notyoueither, Witlich, ADG - 1 right
Jon Miller, Imran - 0 right
And a special award for Mr. Fun's answer
I got 6 correct, missing the last question (argh) I answered 80% on that question.
Thank you all for playing along. I will probably continue to post new ones, because I'm looking forward to the time that you guys beat the experts. It will give me a lot of material to abuse some people with.
Again... Thanks.

I expected that from this group. But, I didn't expect it from some of the experts... and from what I was told, some didn't get any right either

It seems people had fun with it... and it is good trivia for parties. I'll do more if the questions seem interesting. I do them every week.

The studies used weren't discussed. However, there is a rating system in place now that provides this kind of info, so I'm sure that was probably the basis.
And like the TV ratings... it's a guess at best, but probably the best info we are going to get.

They seem to be doing marginally better with the answers. Before the median was 2.

I'm fairly happy with my score. Better than some of the so-called experts anyway.
If you have any similar things in future Ming please post them! We're all very sorry we let you down this time. We promise to do better in future!
(except that Imran, he just likes to be contrary )
