Ladders are a pain............I think you are best off sticking with an all-against-all tourney series like this one. If it gets too big then have 2 groups.

I'd rather stay away from ladders, too.

I fear my game against Sir Ralph. He beat MtG! However, as zorbop is already playing two games, I should probably play Ralph next.
I'm ready to play when you are.

My game with zorbop seems to be stalled out, at least for a while.
Anybody?

I'm still looking for games with MtG, muxec, and zorbop. I'd start threads for the games but I haven't been too successful so far at getting the ball rolling so I'll wait for some definite interest before trying again.

Hey, SR, who is that in your avatar? I've always wanted to ask but never got around to it.
MtG: Are you up for one?

From what Sir Ralph was saying, there's going to be groups of six, but I think we can accomodate one or two more per group, since some games are going slowly or not at all.
muxec? Sir Ralph?

I'd suggest to start a new group as soon as there are at least 4 new players there. We already have Pave and MJW. When Trajanus and Frozzy join too, we could start it. To integrate more players in our 6-group would be very difficult.
So, who of the new players is ready to start up?
Still, a ladder would be more apt to our "floating" player base. Group play needs constant presence of all players. Ladders may be difficult to maintain (and to be honest, I have no know-how about them at all), but they seem the best solution under these circumstances.

Believe me, a ladder will be more of a pain to administer than your tourneys. Just start another tourney for the new group. Perhaps then the best players from each group play in the same group next time.

We can start the new group with Pave and MJW.
Whichever one was first to post in the thread takes white.

I forgot to mention Jon Miller. If he's still interested to play, it's Jon Miller vs. Pave. Otherwise it's Pave vs. MJW. The other players can be added in pairs, when they show up. I'd suggest to play in groups not bigger than six.

It's either Jon Miller (white) vs Pave (black) or Pave (white) vs MJW (black). I think you should play with who of these two posts here first.
Sorry that it has taken long, but muxec, who organized this tournament first, somehow disappeared, so it took a while before a replacement stepped up.

I'd love to play if you guys need someone to make up the numbers.

Try to get Jon Miller then, OPD. May be by PM. He'd have white in his first game. I will make a group out of it later (may be after 2 more joined).

We're always open. If Jon Miller doesn't show up soon, you can play with OPD. OPD would have white in the first game, since he was here first.

Everyone plays everyone in the group once and the best record wins. Sir Ralph and MtG have been organizing so it would be up to them about tie breakers. Probably a playoff match. Will we get the top players from each bracket to play each other for the ultimate Poly chess championship?
