Bizzare summer, to be sure. I'm not a big fan of temperatures up in the 90s, though, so I'm not complaining either (even though seeing the sun has become an occasional event, worthy of note).

Last year this time our rivers had thrice their usual level and the land was drown in the flood. Now all rivers have half their usual level and are as warm as piss, so that our nuclear power plants have to be shut down due to the lack of enough cooling water. What has this world come to, tse!
Oh... and of course the yanks are responsible. They simply have to!

People die of the heat here too. It's just something you deal with.

Really? Anyway, if it's something that kills people I think the "Wimps" comment is inappropriate.
It's a big shock to the system if you suddenly start getting deaths for new reasons. We're used to people dying in the cold weather but this is new.

100 degrees and humid is damn hot..I grew up in a place were the lowest it gets at night is 70 degrees, and were high year round go from low 80's to mid, upper 90's, with high hummidity for most of the year: and yes, 100 degrees and humid is hot, no matter how much some people may claim it is not. I dare the "That's not hot!" crowd to tell us whether they spend such days outside or far away from AC?

The wackos ARE in the minority (extreme lefties, extreme right-wingers, cheesy lawyers, militia fanatics)
Oh -- didn't mean to offend you with the cheesy lawyer inclusion, Imran.

These few lines show the current temperature at 11:00 AM, not the high temp. It will get much, much hotter.

It's only 87 degrees out. Anything below 90 degrees is downright pleasant in my book. In the summer of '92, there was a 2 month stretch where 50 days were above 90 degrees, and most were near 100. That's hot!
Admittedly, the humidity in DC is always a killer...
