PEACE Pact
If this deal fails, as seems likely now (sorry guys ), this could put the Pact in jeapody. I am asking you to say what your opinions of the Pact are, and what it would take for you to think we should cancel it.
Partly because of the advantages, and partly because it would be lots of fun, I think we should seriously consider building up a small military, then cancelling the Pact, and taking a base, possible even two. I'm proposing getting Ind Auto and Doc Flex ASAP, and then building 2 Laser Foils (or getting Non Math and getting 2 Impact Foils?). Without Ind Base, they are virtually defenceless
So, what is you opinion of PEACE, and what do you thinkwe should do about it.
You have 3 days, please discuss and give reasons too

I think I favour options 4 and 5. Build up 2 military units (laser/impact foils) and 1 or 2 probe foils. Cancel Pact with both all units in nearest base, then infiltrate, steal tech, and look and see any base with 0 or 1 defender nearby, and take the base. Then use both units to hold it until a synthmetal garrison can be built, while trying to get consessions. Maybe take two if opportunities present themselves. What do you think?

I think the decision was made for me: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...85#post2257685
It's time for War. I see no other option that makes this game remain fun and give us a chance to win still. And to wipe the smiles of those annoying Pirates As you can see by the title, I'm a little peeved at them (And yes Maniac, I conceed the emotion argument ). If someone wishes I will return it, but I think this is more accurate

tactical advice: prepare for WAR!

The problem is just researching Doc: Flex and possibly Non-Linear Math, and then building up a fleet without the Pirates noticing... no small order! With them having the advantage of already knowing Doc:Flex, it would be easy for them to respond and pre-empt our effort. We need to make it seem non-threatening... downgrading to a treaty would prevent them from knowing, but it would make them wary too... we are in a difficult situation.

Forget Non Math for the moment. Leave it at Pact. We want to explore, so we would want Doc Flex. Then build an exploration ship or two. Then cancel the Pact and strike. We can explain it all to them in friendly, non-war terms, until we need to.

Is it just me, or do the Pirates know exactly the right moment to stop being pompous and restore a civil air to negotiations. We should offer them some implants to control their emotions... it would get us a lot farther.
