You are correct, it is premature to worry about a forum, we do not have any product at this point.

Hi,
We have already asked Dan and he said that he wants to watch the progress of the AU But the forum wouldnt start now. So both your claims are wrong. Of course it wouldnt.

Well I stand by those claims and support whatvmxa1 said. But like I said, you're the Dean. You get to call the shots, it's the best thing about leadership.

Yes but the point is that it can't be to early because the forum wouldn't start NOW. It would be after everything was set up.

Wait a minute, why would say have a horrible day? There was no malice in my statement. It is ok to be wrong, isn't? It was not meant to be anything negative and even if I was correct, it was not binding.
I was merely agreeing that we could wait to worry about a forum or not. But if people want to go ahead and talk about (and I do), that is fine.

don't feel offended, i think he was making fun of a certain apolyton-spammer
but NM forgot the overexcessive use of smilies and the spaces before the points and colons

The banana......
How to explain. Once upon a time, there was something new called a democracy game. It it, a large number of Apolytonians played a game together. They followed the Egyptian path. When the game started, they found themselves within a large jungle. A bloody huge jungle. What grows in jungles? The large yellow god of the egyptians (they are religious and have to worship something).
Basically, it started in the first demo game as a kinda joke, a group of savages who worshiped a fruit. It just kinda grew from there.
Hope that helps.

Got it. I figured there had to be an interesting story behind this.
Thanks for explaining it.

The ever elusive and shy bananimal! So often sought and so often no one even sees the reflection of light from his shiny yellow coat, and now, here in our midst, in the Civ 3 - Stragegy forum we are able to not just get a glimpse or a fuzzy photograph, but to see the beast in all it's glory out open in the plains with nowhere to hide. Amazing! I guess looking in the wrong places like the community forum has been the downfall of many an apolytoner searching for the secretive bananimal.
Quick we must get a photo and then capture the bananimal before he gets away again and leaves many apolytoners in the dark once again.
And thanks GodKing!

I'd like to re-iterate that your chances of getting a new forum before some tangible progress has been made on expanding AU is about zero.* AU threads have happily existed in the Strat forum for a year now without causing any problems.
If AU takes off and there are 9 or 10 active threads at a time, THEN ask for a new forum. It will be justified and you'll probably get it. To be honest, you've got more important things to concern yourself with now if you want to expand AU. Of course, this is at the discretion of the Dean and he's quite welcome to ignore me if he wishes.
* - I should make clear that I'm basing this just on experience of being here for a while and seeing many similar requests for forums turned down for this very reason. Of course, I have no influence over the decision of the admins.

The AU has taken off. The first page in the Strategy Forum is full of AU threads, can the Dean look into getting a Forum or sub-Forum for AU ?
