How often do other people in other cultures bathe?
I was curious about this.
In the US, it is customary to bathe at least once a day... rarely do most people fail on this, and many bathe more frequently. I personally bathe once a day, almost without fail (i failed today tho ). i like showers, and i usually take them in under 15 minutes. i would take them faster but im usually tired when i shower and i often blank out and stare into space and dont realize it.
I remember reading that in Japan they usually take 3 baths a day. I personally find that kind of excessive compulsive.
My mother told me when she lived in Europe in the '70s (in germany, tho travled around), that many women in Germany didnt shave and it was common pratice to take only one bath a week.
Were these things true or are they still true?
How often do people in your region bathe? how often do YOU bathe and how long does it take ya?

I live in a desert with drought problems. One shower a week for fifteen minutes. Uses one seventh as much water as a daily shower.

Ted: I've been using Sawfish for two years now. Unless Blackbox has better viewport handling and a scriping language (sawfish understands elisp) I probably won't switch.

The Pretty much standard once a day (Bath 15-20 mins), apart from the rare days when I have nothing to do, and I dont end up leaving the house.
An Evening bath can occasionally be good, but that is more for enjoyment rather than hygeine purposes.

AS - I can see how Showering would be more clean, however, When you live in a cool climate and are an office worker, you dont have too much 'filfth' to bath in, and it's insignificant at the temperature i have a bath.

Just rinse down after your bath, same thing.

I always take showers, I think I used my bath once or twice in four years.

Wow, AS, you beat my record for dirtiness. Up till two years ago, I didn't bathe at all.

Kramerman:
i doubt that... a 4 or 5 year old is too young to be taking a shower... you would've slipped and banged your head on the faucet.

That's what faucets are there for AS.
If that was actually a problem, a faucet would be a hole in the wall, maybe with a small spout.

What?! American barbarians!
I usually did and do take a bath once a week. Except in India. Trust me, not bathing at all in India is better than bathing in the water they give.

I never bathe.
I shower every night before I go to bed though, and this saves me time in the morning.

I usually shower every morning. There are some weekend days where I just don't bother though.

A more accurate question would be 'when do people in other cultures bathe/take shower'.
I remember having behave barbarian to frenchies by taking my shower the morning and not the evening.
In France they seem to bath/take shower the evening: 'don't make the sheets dirty with your day sweat', while in Belgium we bathe/take shower the morning: 'don't make you clothes dirty with your night sweat'.
Usually home, I take a shower every morning.
When it's hot or when I am in warmer countries I may take a shower before getting dressed and a bath (if available, otherwise, second shower) before going to bed.

I bathe every second day (before I go to sleep) and I am said to bathe very often
If it is very hot I often also take a shower in the days between.
Don´t know how often other people here in Germany bathe.
After all there is also a certain awareness about how much water gets wasted with every bath, which is why many people here often just shower instead of taking a bath (uses much less water)
So I can be considered to be some kind of ecological sinner in my country

Only if a shower uses less than half the water of a bath.
