I am flexible about all rules except 1x1x, I don't think diplo can be played with anything else.
Uh and this probably means I have to install ICQ, is that what all of you are using?

Atawa you have forgot me...
but OK you can equally well do it if you play something else than 1x1x deity random map. I have so many games to play so I have no need to compromise to less interesting settings...
I am still interested on both tuesdays and thursdays.
Please tell me how it will be!
I would be happy to start already today!
I prefer tuesdays. I don't want to play longer than midnight (GMT+1) so please start each session as early as possible.

Atawa proposed that we begin in a week, on 9 September. This should give us ample time to agree on the settings and the rules.
What about time limit per turn?
I think 1x1x deity would be the best, but let’s see what the others are saying. It’s a majority vote, after all.
And I could also begin today, if all the others agree.

1x1x deity works for me.
City bribe is way too cheap, I hate conquering a city and seeing it bribed back for 27 gold......
Added Winz, sorry mate.

I can play tonight but not sure about Winz and Germanos.
We play without time limits, just micromanage on someone else's turn.

I could start today as well, but next week is fine with me.
Deity 1x1x is my preference (never played anything else )
No city bribe, no GW is basically all I want, and Rah rules, although I don't know them by heart. (BTW, including the changed rules.txt to increase the duration of Oracle?. I would be fine with that, but can do without)

I have installed ICQ and my number is 270766668. And I am online. I should not be the host in any case since I am on 56k, but contact me if we are going to try this tonight, I'm ready.

Ok, we are starting next week.
What map do we want to play on?
I like the HOTW idea of putting civs on their historic spots. Makes it possible to play as Khmer starting in SE-Asia

Ok, let's use HOTW map then. Where can I get that map? It is ok to get familiar with it before game, right?

I have gone through RAH rules. Most seem reasonable right now, but I would like to voice my opinion against pre-worked settlers being allowed. It would just bog down the game more and we are already looking at some serious micromanagment.

What about food caravan trick?
I suggest we ban food caravans in their principal function (delivering food) and allow them only for wonder construction.

If it is only used for instant forts, ok.
What about clearing settler orders each turn? As per RAH rules it is allowed despite increasing settler productivity by a factor of two. I propose we forbid this, if nobody does it, nobody is worse off and our turns will be shorter and more fun.

Yes, I suggest we ban all of that stupid micro-management that kills the game.
Canceling orders for settlers each turn ?!
What else will they think of?
By the way, I never build settlers. For irrigation that is.

I see no reason why I can't cancel my Settler orders during other peoples turns

This discussion is going at a really slow pace..
What about Civ Manager by Xin Yu? I used it in Red Front scenario and it was very useful there. Do we allow it here?
Also, what is the reasoning behind 3 wonders per person? Though I don't have a problem with that, if it is decided.
Do we need more rules..? Attacking, defending? How many turns notice before attack? How many max cities taken per attack?

Civ Manager is OK. Some people say it can save time. I don't have enough experience to tell.
If we have 6 players I suggest 4 wonders each, plus 3 wonders that anybody can build: Apollo, Manhattan and Eiffel.

ljcvetko send me an email asking about my real2.scn - I posted maps in another thread. He thought it would be good as a a diplo scn and I agree!
I haven't got a zipping program installed so I'll post the component files here (unzipped)
The files need to be put in folder called real2 in your scn folder.
