Civ Manager is a little program that 'knows' the memory locations of Civ2 variables and is thus able to change them in realtime. It is not designed to cheat though. You have the program running simultaneously with civ2 and by clicking in the program you can rush-buy faster (without the incremental procedure) and change production queues.

I do not know how many cities does an average diplogame have, but this proggy saved my life when I played Red Front scenario (dozens of cities). You can get it from somewhere in scenario section, I'll see if I can find a link.

I can do that, but I can't do both tuesdays and thursdays.

I've tried your scenario deity and it seems nice enough for a good, equal multiplayer game, but we should use world map for this diplogame because of the roleplaying effect.

I was thinking something practical in game terms, like, the builder of Eiffel gets a free tech from the tech leader, or can't be attacked for a number of turns or something. Eiffel is a long way into the game, we'll think of something I'm sure

I tried the scenario and got beaten by the barbs
The units’ graphics is really interesting, much better than in the original game.

I have one complaint though.
Why haven't you included plumbing?

I would be happy to play thursdays if that means we could get deity to play as sixth We have to hear about this from our dutch players.

As for map I still think we should go with a nice, big world map.Since we seem to have different oppinions I suggest we have a vote and accept the majority decision. I cast my vote for the world map.

And.. more rules

What about Hut Finder? I was browsing through the civ2 forums and I found this utility. Apparently it tells you where huts and/or specials are hidden.

I may sound like a stone age guy but is this usually allowed in MP games?

I would prefer playing on a world map of some sorts and to play on tuesday nights.
Come on deity, getting up early on a wednesday is good for you

I have no problem with hutfinder

I'll be much more reliable on tuesday, than on thursday .

I can't use hutfinder, but I'll find them anyway

I like the fun of exploring a map, but hey: if you don't, I don't mind.

Triremes should sink, but we could do something about the chance they will actually do so.

Eiffel just sucks. Accept it. Or show your might by building it

Hut finder is a great utility which shows the location of huts, the location of specials (including hidden ones) and oedo years.

Yes, by all means, use it. I won't because I like playing fast; have no time for trivial things like hidden specials.

If we are going to play on a real world map, can anybody post it here? Or at least direct me to it.
Thanks in advance.

Ok,

- about hutfinder we have agreed.

- about time, I take tuesdays is settled? See you in two days

- world map vs scenario, germanos you haven't stated your preference on this.

- I take it for the remaining stuff, we play by the rah rules?

And arhem, winzity could you stop by to this thread and say your part too

About world map, I have searched for the HoTW one on their geoticies site but I haven't found it. I have found two large world maps in Apolyton Civ2 Directory.

Deity could you tell us was the map you used fot HotW good for the game, or would a larger/smaller one be better?

In that case, we should all pick a starting location. And we need someone to put starting positions on the map, I don't know how to do it.

I'll take south-east europe. Hey, this is first come - first served system, right?
I plan to play as ... Panslavia. Russians did a crappy job in OTL, this time I lead the Slavs to greatness.

I have found these maps: 75x120 map and giga map (254x230) of earth made by Julius Brenzaida. The first one seems ok, maybe a bit small?

The second one is ... weird. It has a huge Antartica, Kamchatka is as large as Europe.. I don't like it. It is pretty big though.

I am sure better world maps are floating around, but does anyone know where to get one?

I found this world map in one of OzzyKP's posts. I hope it's the right one. Ozzy, can you confirm?

Are we going to use this one?

I'll change starting positions and names of the tribes and cities, if you all post the coordinates and related data (names of tribes, titles, lists of cities).

Is it agreed we play on Ozzy's world map?

I'm fine with this map, 136/68, I'll name city's as I found them.

But can we play with random hut and specials?
As it looks now I have chosen the worst land in recorded history

Ok, I definately want to start in NZ, will be fun islandhopping

I made some minor changes in the map (Mainly changed some jungle on the islands to forrest or grass).

Let me know if you find this acceptable.

About randomizing huts and specials, ok with me.
